Hey all! Only yesterday I've already encountered this amazing game and I must say that I am endlessly enjoying myself already. Though, through some browsing on the wiki and through normal gameplay, I noticed that the underground is somewhat lacking... While I'm digging, I only see constantly the same ores. [I know that there are about 7 more ores coming as I continue with the progression, but still, it remains at 7-8 ores each sector] In other words, I'm somewhat missing variation. For example, in sector one I keep seeing coal, copper, iron, silver, gold and platinum, perhaps with one or two chunks of diamond here or there. But through the whole hour of digging down, that's literally all I see. So, while I don't know yet how these things can be properly applied yet as I'm not *that* far in the game yet, I would like to suggest some more 'general' ores and new gems to be added. With gems, I had in mind like: - Sapphires - Emeralds - Rubies - Garnets - Amethyst - Red/Gold Topaz - Quartz - Onyx with ores: - Alluminium/Bauxite - Mercury [only findable in ice layers/biomes. Mining this improperly prepared can cause toxication too] - Tin [why only copper and not tin?] - Zinc - Tungsten The uses to me aren't familiar to me yet, just suggesting some content. It is because I like mining a lot, and where a game has a massive underground, IMO it deserves to be well-decorated . Gems could always be used for scientific purposes. Alluminium is very light and mostly applied too in almost everything around us. Mercury can also be used for scientific purposes. Tin, Zinc and Tungsten are also commonly used materials for technological purposes, though perhaps not as pupulair as the others. I am not familiar yet in how the developpers stand with improvised ores, gems or materials, but if improvised ores could be allowed too, I would love to have more of those ores available .
If you are interested, Industrialization: starbound edition (ISE) is a mod that adds ores and i think (dont quote me on this) gems. It also lets you make machines. I wish it had a power management system like in the minecraft industrialcraft, but they say they wont be adding that.
I thought that 'there is a mod that...' quotes never should be posted at suggestions? The suggestions are for actual game content and not for mods
You don't happen to frequent the Minecraft Forum do you? That is a big rule there but not so much here. That aside, I want these but only if they all have uses.
It's a common policy, because responding 'there's a mod that...' is off-topic as the threads are about suggestions and not requesting info about Modifications. But yeah... MCF . I don't know a lot yet of the game, so I honestly have no idea whatever item has what use already. I just like to find a lot while spending underground.
