Robotic Farming ... IN SPACE! - Supports modded plants! - Cheerful 1.3.4

No worries about how long it takes, I can wait on farming those for a bit. Still working on finding a place to build a Home and enlarging the ship.

Try the bug net? I know you can attack them somewhat but that takes a while.

Ohhhh, thank you very much! I never noticed holding Alt showed any percent. I ended up destroying the poor little guy ;-; Okay, I'll train him up to be a happy farmer~ Thank you! :)

My lumberbot doesn't like cacti. It chops them down, but it doesn't plant them again.
Could it be because of terrain? Since I made the area just for planting cacti I didn't make it very tall ...
Kill it with melee. Bug net 1-hits them (by design). They'll turn into the original grey bot you can pick up.

    Hello world,

wonderful mod there, only the v86 is causing trouble.

Maybe this part of my log might help you to find out, why it explodes for (seemingly) no good reason, almost as soon as it is activated (which is new to the last update - before that it would only wander of randomly because I had not understood the "fence"- mechanic and tried to hedge it in with dirtwalls (which works well for the v80 &co, btw)):

Lumberbots appear to go back and forth one time in area and then explode, any ideas?

fix incoming, testing to make sure it doesnt break any other parts (like last one doh)

also big thank you to @Tofu Mc Dog for actually posting log
this is how modders can find the error faster ;)

posting it on pastebin and giving a link works too, or better

if it has a ceiling over it that is less than 30 open blocks from ground, it isn't considered a 'good' place to plant tree (cacti use saplings, so are considered a 'tree')
dont change it til after i post next fix, or your lumberbot will explode

yes, i really need to update overview page - lazy programmers not documenting anything >.>

    30 tiles space, got it.
P.S. I know people mostly don't read, but I'm sure if you added things like that - 30 blocks for lumberbot, bug net to pick up - in the steam/mod description the repeated questions would go down just a little bit :D

    It works!
No more exploding 86s. I could stare at the screen all day watching those adorable widdle wobots scuttling here and there, milking fluffalo, doing their thing.
    This is sooooooo nice.

Why do I ever need v80g robot? As I see from script, v82 robot is slightly better...

Just to add my two cents on this mod.

I am no programer so I cant help with codes and lua, but I am a good observer.

The mining bots on moons are digging very deep before starting making the tunnels. In one moon the bot simple dig a very long shaft and near the end of the moon it began to add the lateral tunnels. Also it appear that when gathering liquids the bot for some reason drop the liquids when he jump to another level and thus he comes back for the liquid again and again.

The bots also apear to be unable to detect ores when not in its direct path and thus miss a lot of ores that are nearby.

A good idea is to allow the bots to be able to detect ores up to a certain distance. Of course the bot with navigate through the tunnels it made previously to reach the ore.

Hope I have helped and sorry for my english.

does anyone know what the percent is above the bots? they start at 75 and i though it was battery but apparently it goes up

  14. Arti78

    Arti78 Space Kumquat

That % is how good they are running. at 100% they don't pull up plants and replant anymore.

  15. watermelaons

so how do i make it better

Just let them run, they get better the longer they are running.

Which markers actually work on which bots, is it possible to set up an area for each of them that they won't go out of, Garden markers seem to be enough for the Farmer and Lumberjack, Miner doesn't seem to care for anything and will go on a destruction spree regardless of what is around, it seems. Or am I missing something?
Not to mention the gardenbot seems to re-arrange my crops all the time, despite them not being of the replantable variety (Cotton), I plant an entire row all neatly next to each other, I'll come back to the row having empty spaces and cotton planted in a way that you can't have 2 next to each other. >.< Even with Perennial Crops, Gardenbot insists on RIPPING EVERYTHING OUT WITH ROOTS and planting them five miles away despite there being space left for it. :/

How exactly are the Garden Markers supposed to work? My lumberjack just ignores them and follows me around, which I'd like for them to not do.
Edit: Seems miners ignore them as well. Do they need to be wired up or something?

You should be able to put them on either side of where you are wanting to grow stuff to make them work. They need no power or wiring.

Another question, the markers are still being weird btw. How am I supposed to get my stuff back from the miner? I place a crate for him, he puts stuff in... then breaks the crate and picks the stuff back up.
Edit: Apparently he only sees the skip as a container to not break.
