I had this idea the other day about what would make your choices in the game even more unique and interesting. One I though of is how your choices in the game would effect the planets. Imagine with me for a moment that you are fairly well into the game, you have explored a lot of planets, when suddenly you have a quest that will require you to blow up a sun (just for examples sake). You go off and complete the quest, and then move on. However, that choice you made not makes all the planets around it dark and/or out of orbit. If the main source of light and gravity is gone, all those planets would rapidly and completely change. Whether its for the good or not is kind of random. Maybe it won't effect you personally because you have no desire to go back to those planets anymore. On the other hand, maybe the slingshot/lack of gravity will force one of those planets to go flying towards one of the planets that you do visit, or want to. I don't know exactly what I'm asking for here, I would just love to see the entire universe, quite literally change with your decisions and actions. Thoughts?
Well blowing up a sun could maybe switch an all day planet (which the Devs said there will be) into a planet that's all night which would then produce new monsters and new plants that couldn't exist during the day. I think it's a very good possibility that this is already in the game (it's a hunch I have) and let me be the first to say it! There are unlimited causes and effects to this (which I hope others will list because I can't think right now) but I think some of the more drastic options should be able to be reversal just so you don't lose something crucial like a rare item. I really think this will be in the game but if it isn't I implore the Devs to put it in!!!!
If you destroyed a star that planets were orbiting that would probably kill all surface life. However, maybe things underground or in caves that had been living in the dark would survive.
Maybe. Wilthout any source of energy, in the end everything would die or enter in some sort of stasis hibernation, waiting for some event to give life back to them. Also, in single player that's something incredible to do. And in multiplayer, the players wanting to do this i a populated solar system would be hunted to the end of the universe Other epic scale events: a) Blowing a planet. You just messed with the fragile(in planet-blowing measures...) equillibrium keeping the planets of a whole solar system and maybe beyond spinning. It gets worse in case of planets with life. So, with time, the changes would place such worlds closer of far away of their stars, what would change the temperature... or throwing moons slowly away and changing tides... b) Black Hole. In a scenario where gravity is messed with, it's not impossible to have many space masses to end crushing one in others, and aglomerating, increasing their effect at other masses and so it scales. As more and more things get sucked, it's a race against time to try to undo the damage or to run as fast as you can as a Black Hole is created, destroying even a galaxy. c) What i've just woke up? Some things are better left hidden and buried. How many movies we've seen about curiosity getting the best of people, and dangerous stuff being released around? Perhaps a Terminator type of monster? And a not so epic scale event: d) Biohazard in MY STATION?! Guess what? That samples were NOT that safe. Good luck trying to save as many as possible and taking back your home of an unknown enemy.
I was thinking the exact same thing just yesterday about how awesome it would be to find out an alien multiplied and got loose in your ship or a plant overgrew in the environment! I hope the game has the capacity for all this!!!!
If we have the capacity to fully mod the game? The infinity as the limit, as much as our computers can handle! But seriously, having some monster templates that match well with the scenario, then spreading them in the station, messing with the deposits, constructions, and placing environment objects and here we go! It gets more complicated as you do more and more changes and events happening in the station, as having to fix eletricity, going after a NPC and other things we all see in survival horror, but not that much, at least i guess...
I'm really liking your guys ideas. With the support of this community, if the devs listen to even just a fourth of what we suggest, this game will be amazing. THAT is why I love this game. Because its so community driven, and it was only announced weeks ago.
