Closed Game slowed down after previous two updates?

I can't play starbound smoothly on my laptop anymore due to immense drop in frames. Which never occurred in my over 400+ Hours into the game (Starbound) Is it just my shitty laptop or are other people experiencing the same thing?
I forgot to add that this only happens on an old save file i played on before the big updates.
I started a brand spanking new save and for now everything seem to run great.
Just sucks to start over.
