Bug/Issue Game keeps Freezing and Crashing on Mac

so I've been playing Stardew on my macbook for quite sometime now and have had no problems. Recently, when I've been trying to play after like 10 minutes, the game freezes and crashes. The first time it happened it crashed my whole laptop. I already checked and there's no issues with my macbook and this only happens when playing Stardew. Is this just an issue with the latest update or is there something I can do to fix this??
