I have Starbound set to update ASAP on Steam. I saw there was a new patch so I closed out of Starbound, steam, and everything I was running. I opened steam and nothing. I clicked on properties -> updates, and nothing. I don't know how to get this game to update. Please help!

I am reinstalling the game hoping that this updates it for me. I would just like to know how to get the game to manually update if steam isn't letting me.

You have the patch, don't go by the launcher version it shows, it doesn't update, the ingame version is correct.

I had to re-verify my local game files to get it to work earlier, but that was most likely b/c my PC froze in the middle of downloading it the first time. Like Vahnkiljoy said, just check inside the launcher first to make sure the version you are playing is actually outdated. The current version is located at that bottom and the version you have will be located at the top. If they aren't the same I would try re-verifying your game cache through Steam.

Next time you're having this issue, you can try verifying the game cache in Steam, this should force it to update.

If auto-update does not seem to be working, click on play. That forces the game to check for a new version.
