Game is Painfully Easy Now

    Now don't get me wrong, I love this game, and I love that the developers worked so hard on it... But I think something clearly went wrong with this patch.

    I started off by digging straight down on the first planet, with a couple hours, I found myself with ~100 bars worth of gold and ~200 bars worth of silver and iron. I proceeded to craft some iron gear, gathered a bit more iron, and made a beacon. The UFO died in roughly 3 or 4 shots with the Iron Bow.

    I immediately created silver armor, went down to get some more materials, turned it into Scout (Steel) Armor in no time. Proceeded to the next sector. One thing I did note is that the Iron broadsword had a DPS of 89. The Steel broadsword had a DPS of 5000+. I don't know if this is intentional.

    Anyways, it didn't take long for me to gather brains to assemble the robot in the next sector. The steel broadsword killed that boss in one hit. If the pattern here isn't obvious enough, I'll say that I think the difficulty curve and damage stats now are... In need of some serious adjustment.

    Some other things I noted is that all of the vendor-sold weapons had 8 DPS, making them completely unusable.

    the patch notes explicitly state that the ore spawn rate is high at the moment, and will likely be toned down in the future

    They will be adjusting it. The point of the patch was to get the new damage system out. That being said, the damage output on weapons will be tweaked

    Well, Tiy did state that ores were a little overtuned this patch. Also, I think the problem with the weapons is that their level is roughly the same as last patch, which is ultimately wrong. There used to be 100 levels, iron was at 5 and steel at 15. Now there's only 10, but iron is STILL at 5 and steel STILL at 15, making steel overpowered by half a game's worth of content.

    An oversight, most likely, and it will probably be fixed soon.

    I order to help people get faster to later levels and test that out, it makes sense to have earlier levels faster.

    In any case, do not confuse time and difficulty.

    You make mining hard by increasing the spawns of enemies and how often you have to deal with enemies as you mine, increasing the power of those enemies, and adding environmental hazards like pockets of lava and poison and deep pits waiting for anyone mindlessly mining down to deliver their death, not by making people spending 5 minutes making a 3 x 3 hole, or having to spend countless hours digging to the point that finding metal bars in chests is faster than mining.

    The point of the thread was more directly towards being able to one-shot bosses, but alright.

    Yeah and that will be adjusted too. Did you really think they would put in such a massive change and not tweak it at all?

    For crying out loud, inform yourselves before providing feedback like this.

    Things like boss balance and ore generation are KNOWN to be a little off right now. Tiy himself said it, a DOZEN times yesterday. They haven't had time to actually test and rebalance numbers. They just wanted to get the patch out for people to start testing asap.

    It's amazing how people absolutely do not understand how the SB beta is going to work at all.
