Closed Game freezes whenever I switch tools

i want to stress i have no new installed mods and it was NOT doing this yesterday with the same mods installed! But now every time i try and scroll to switch my tool/current held item, the game becomes unresponsive and the only thing I can do is kill the game process! No matter how long I wait, it never comes back up! Is this an update issue, or something else?

 

it's actually fixed itself, do you still need it?? ;v;
