Bug/Issue Game Crashing 100% if Switch is Undocked.

Bug: Game crashing

Cause: If the switch is undocked, the game will crash.

Explanation: This has been happening since I installed SDV on launch day. If I open the game with the switch undocked it will crash at some point between launch and before I make it to the SDV title screen. If I switch from docked => undocked with the game open it immediately crashes. The game runs great docked, just has a 100% crash rate undocked. I've checked for corrupt data, reinstalled, restarted the switch. Other games run fine undocked and SDV will run great if docked. The "The software was closed because an error occurred." message is what it throws up following closure of the software.

 

That really sucks

I have a few questions if you don't mind:

• Do you have Stardew Valley installed on internal system storage, or on a microSD card?
• Do you have any other controllers paired with the console and / or on and connected at the time?
• Does it still happen if you dock the console and change the language (speech bubble button in the bottom right)?
• What language is your Nintendo Switch console set to?
• Could you check you have the 1.2.35 day-one patch installed? (From the home menu, press + on Stardew Valley. Along the top of the screen somewhere it will say 1.2.35)

 

That's okay, life could be worse

1. It is installed on the Internal System Storage. I did find a microSD laying around if installing onto it is something we want to test.
2. I did have a pair of controllers that were paired but not connected, I disconnected all pairs except the ones I am now using and it is still crashing.
3. Docked, changed to German, undocked, crashed.
4. English
5. Version 1.2.35 is installed

 

I've tried installing SDV onto a microSD card as well and still crashes in portable mode.

Also other games run on portable mode, it is only SDV that will not.

 

Ive also encountered the "The software was closed because an error occurred." after trying to load my character just this morning. Im in portable mode, havnt tested docked mode cause im at work.
