Bug/Issue Game Crashes When I Catch a Fish

Yeah so like the title says, the game crashes whenever I'm fishing and the exclamation mark appears above my head. I did originally have the Easier Fishing mod installed but when that happened I first redownloaded the mod and replaced the file however, it still crashed whenever I fished. Then I put the original file back in a tried again and it still crashed. So can someone help me out because I'm stuck on the Ice Festival with the fishing competition. Granted, I'm in year three and have already won the competition but I'd like to be able to catch fish because I only have the last legendary fish left to catch.
