Well, these two. Sergals and Starbound: New Origins

While the second one is...quite a huge thing, Sergals are a race of aliens, after all. It fits in with the game's theme like any other.

 

About Starbound: New Origins;

Is it compatible with all currently used mods? What Compatibility level do you suggest?

What use is Randomized Gun Crafting and the changes to tiered/racial equipment on a server that utilizes the Creative Mode mod?

Will the changes to character/weapon values through the Reworked Energy System and Gun Mechanics affect the players ability to join other vanilla servers?

 

Those are all questions I'm honestly unsure of. Normally when a player joins another vanilla server, (or this server) and others do not have the mod they become invisible. In some instances it will cause other players to crash... But I'll be adding Sergals next mod update, amongst a few others. SNO I can probably add as well. ^^

 

Sergals are most certainly already included in the mod pack list. If you create a new character for the server after you have downloaded and extracted the modpack properly, they are the 3rd choice to the right just behind Hanashi.

 

I seem to have the absolute worst timing with my join attempts... 2 out of 3 times I've joined it restarted shortly after I joined. xD Assuming this time around was another restart anyway.

 

The server restarts pretty regularly throughout the day. It's scripted to reboot after X amount of memory usage. So the time frame in which it goes down varies greatly depending on the number of players and their activity in the game. Generally it will take anywhere between 3-10 minutes to fully reboot itself and get the server running again. But you can usually get in and play for quite a large number of hours before having to experience another disconnect if you're willing to have patience with the reboots.

 

Of course I'm willing to have patience. I'm just saying my timing sucks. xD

 

Oh yeah no, it's cool you're willing to wait, I was just letting you know in case you were unaware. It seemed like you've been having a bit of a hard time with the server, so I figured I'd try to help with some information.

 

I was pretty sure I had added them, haha. That reply was late at night and I simply responded without checking. Thanks for clearing that up. ^^

Np, I've really enjoyed this server and it's community thus far. The least I could do is attempt to help smooth things over with some of the new comers having issues or concerns that are easily answered.

 

Sorry for not being active these past few days!

I've been dealing with school stuff as well as dealing with side effects from some meds I'm on. I'm hoping to be online at least once a week, hopefully more but we'll see how school decides to treat me this year.

Is the server down right now?

 

Seems like it... I was on earlier, beamed down to a planet... client-server connection is no longer valid. it's been down ever since. This kind of thing has been happening a lot lately. It almost seems like someone is intentionally crashing the server or something. Server restarts is one thing, but this is server dying without any warning so it's definitely NOT a restart.

 

Our parent server has hit a fatal exception because it's a terribly coded piece of shit. (Thanks Chucklefish)

I'll be working on it all night it seems. Will probably require a universe reset.

Edit: It seemed spawn got corrupted somehow to keep the server from starting up. Re-instated backup and deleted quests database (so you'll have all starting quests again; sorry). However nothing was wiped and everything should be functioning normally now.
