After measuring the floor of the world (it does loop around on itself btw) I have approximated the world length to be around 1100 blocks in width.
With a map width of approx. 1000-1100 blocks and each being 0.375 long and wide, it can be assumed that if you wanted to make a life sized ship the maximum width of the ship you wanted to build would have to stay within the limits of 375-400m long (approximating for possible errors in my counting).
EDIT: Re-counted. It is exactly 1089 blocks long.

Assuming that our character is approximately (many approximation here bare with me) 1.5 meters tall. 1.5 / 4 = 0.375 m^2 for each individual block.

If you would perfer to believe that the character height is instead approximately average human height (5'10"/70inches/178cm/1.778m tall) then the dimensions per block would be: 1.778 / 4 = 0.445m^2.

Or if you are a rounder (like myself) maybe you would prefer to delude yourself into thinking the character is actually insanely tall. Perhaps he is 2 meters tall? Hey it can happen. This would mean that each block is exactly 0.5m^2 which opens up the size possibilites of projects greatly.

    0.375 (m per block) * 1089 = 408.375 meters long
    0.445 * 1089 = 484.06m
    0.5 * 1089 = 544.5m

Do with this what you will.

Hey, this is probably a bug with the game itself...but you can spawn bosses on the ship and kill them without taking any damage from them. Seems like a really OP exploit, but I suppose it doesn't really have any profit besides moving up to the next tier without a challenging boss.

There are also some bugs revolving around other players being unable to teleport to my ship, thus having to restart his server. I may want to suggest that you figure out what the most stable ship size frame is and build it based on that. A world sized ship isn't very necessary, but can be optional for the extra creative I suppose.

Concerning the player not being able to teleport to your ship, are there any biome-adding mods installed to the server?
If so that might the reason for it instead of the ship mod. I can't explain why, but the same thing has happened to me and others on my server while I had VistotU installed.

I really love this mod. I have a question though; what happens if we try to use it and for some reason it's not updated to the current game when the game updates? Would everything be lost?

    gp2.eXe Phantasmal Quasar

If you first extracted the mod to a custom folder, make sure to copy just the mod's root folder, that is, the one called "FCSMod", generally the path would end up looking like "/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Starbound/mods/FCSMod/"

    Hope that helps.

If the game updates and changes to a version different than the current "Beta v. Furious Koala", the game will simply refuse to launch until all installed mods are updated to the new version, and it won't touch anything character-wise. You can therefore safely wait until the FCS mod is updated (recommended), or if you have a bit of modding knowledge you can manually change the .modinfo file and update it to the newer version in the meantime, but that does run the risk of corrupting the ship file if the update changed any core mechanics.

Can't seem to get this mod working. It's in the mods folder, I renamed the shipworld file to the one I wanted to replace. No luck. :(

I had that problem, what I did was remove the old shipworld file from the player folder and keep the new one in the mods folder. It worked then :)

it's in the game directory in the "Player" Folder. If you have more then one character start the game with your char and look which files are newest.

Hey when you past an image using dropbox, right click the download button, select "Copy Link Address" and use that.

Nice ship by the way, any chance you'd post a download of the ship for it?

    DDeth2150 Void-Bound Voyager

So I thought I had this installed right [replaced my old ship world with the new one] and got it working in game got to edit my ship and was having a hell of a time. Made a decent ship and was happy with it. Anyway when I was done with that I tried to fly to a new satellite in a new solar system... well either it takes longer to warp because of the size of the ship... or something is wrong because I never leave warp. Saving and exiting just puts me back on the satellite I left. Not too sure how to fix this problem short of cloning my old player data and such, as I didn't think to back up my old shipworld. Anyone else have this happen?
