Those poo monsters/aliens are a little bit 'shit'

Some of the items are a little too colourful but aside from that everything looks fine.

    Skarn Existential Complex

Everyone is a fanboy, so let's not even go there. >_>

As for the actual topic, I'm not sure. At any rate, I like to think of Terraria as being different islands on a single world, but regardless it has a LOT of diversity. It may be same-y but ultimately it has enough to it to entertain you for a long time if you let it.

My fear with starbound is that there really won't be as much diversity as it seems, only once you actually start playing and get a feel for the game you'd start to notice the patterns things follow. It's really difficult to tell in the videos because we don't know all of the factors that go into it. We only see bits and pieces here and there.

I went from zero knowledge to what I linked in two evenings, so I can't help you there. (Well I could, but I don't feel like learning MML right now :p) Try looking for your songs at sites like http://www.thefatlute.eu/ to see if someone has already made it in ABC.

The chickens. They scare me :(

  9. Calris

    Calris Existential Complex

And you are right to be afraid...

They run around when you cut their heads off! Headless chickens! They can still move! Clearly, they are possessed, and are patiently waiting the right moment to rise up against us in a tide of chicken rage, to overthrow us in some lemming-like method of utter destruction!

Mark my words. The chickens are coming... :cautious:

Regarding the eyeballs/brains generation. I know if I get that backdrop I may just start recreating my character over and over until I get a home planet that I like. Sort of like Terraria, I'd rebuild the world until it generated something cool. This is assuming creating a new character changes your starting "home" planet.

I agree on the Poo monsters, I don't mind them. I'd be irate if I saw unicorns and rainbows in an underground sewer type dungeon.

But you can just set your home planet to whichever you want, does the starting planet matter so much? Just take all of its resources and leave it ugly and full of holes, you're not even going to remember it in the late game.

  12. DimitriKrevev

Yes that is what I do as well... just recreate until the alorithm gives me somthing I like :)

sooo glad im not the only one bro =)

  13. Starfinder

    Starfinder Big Damn Hero

half blocks don't matter much to a true gamer, or even if you're not a true gamer, still..point remains.
I understand you're concerned, but dude, seriously? they're doing all they can to make everyone happy, even if that means spending their entire free time, and work time on the game, they are awesome people, and they deserve so much more than we give them credit for, so instead of having a discussion on crappy things starbound has, how about we look at the good and bad? bad things are fixable.
    Please understand that^.

You're basically implying "If half-blocks matter to you, then you're not a true gamer." You sound so conceited here. It's bloody opinion man. Let the fellow have his opinion, and don't try to beat your opinion into him. You're acting worse than my girlfriend's mom with religion.

Half-blocks aren't a big concern, but it's something that might help make a building/terrain look just a bit better. Vegetation helps a planet look more lively. I'm sure it's something that will be addressed in the future, but no, neither half-blocks nor dense vegetation are a big deal for beta. Do we know how dense vegetation will be in beta? We can only speculate from the pictures we've seen so far.

Yeah, dude, you obviously don't understand the point of this thread. Just please stop responding. Never once did I demean any of the work already done for the game. Go find a different thread if you're just here to shoot down the point of the topic.
