From what we have seen what are your most disliked things in the game?

    I don't see how durability adds any real challenge. Other than "I'll have to make multiple copies of this tool because I want to keep digging but it'll break." or "I'll have to teleport back to my ship every couple of minutes to repair my tools." Its just a level of irritation that doesn't need to be there, theres no challenge to either of the above situations.

    It could be worse, you could have already released and patched the beta a few times and had all that worry done and over with.
    ... I mean coders run on stress and caffeine, can't have enough of that. ;) (Almost sure this applies to pixel artists too.)

    They've said that durability is effectiveness of the tool, not it breaking. A 0 durability pick will still break rocks... just slowly. And you can sharpen it with the rocks you mine.

    Honestly, the dirt texture. Big sections of dirt blocks end up looking too... flat and plain. Ima go live in a desert or something.

    Unfortunately you'll get that from people.
    Maybe the best game of its genre (which... well, kinda encompasses all of four other games, plus any other underground ones I don't know about), but beyond that... eh. "Best game ever" is subjective.

    The amount of people making a huge deal about the po. its not the whole game.
    ON TOPIC:
    I don't like how similar the early game is to others of it's genre. so far from what I've seen (i49, dev streams) its like the first 15 minutes of terraria all over again. I sure do hope it has an origional Starbound space-twist on it.

    yeah this. Killing enemies doesn't feel good. Compared to Terraria where you can make yourself just a giant meat grinder and have body parts flying everywhere. Delicious.

    Since I never really voiced my opinions on what I didn't like...

    The stretch goals.

    I'm against stretch goals in general. It's not a good pre-order incentive in my eyes; it's basically saying "Either we get [insert money amount here] or you don't get [insert reward here]." I really hate that system because it's not fair to those that preorder and want it, as you have to simply hope and pray everyone else will preorder. I was really hoping the devs would be above that (not saying they're bad or anything, but it's not a business tactic I'm fond of.)

    ...On top of that, the stretch goals in general aren't even that great. Yeah, the Novakids (Novachildren plural?) are cool, though starter pets are meh to me and I don't see really anyone caring about fossils. But, that's me. Others may see it differently.

    Also- the damage numbers. I've complained about it before, but they look pretty bleh. It really needs an outline or else they'll have issues with blending into the background.


    I feel the same way.
    However, due to the fact that enemies are randomly generated, gibbing them might be technically very difficult to pull off. I guess it's possible they wanted to do it in the first place, just couldn't pull it off.
    I can understand if it's a technical hassle. It happens sometimes. But if it's not then it's a bit of a disappointment. But, then again, not every game needs to be as gory as Prototype either.

    There isn't much to say about the Po that hasn't already been said, so I won't harp on about it. Aside from that, the only thing that really springs to mind is the lack of detail surrounding certain things like difficulty settings and other options open to the player. I think it's something people would want to know about.

    Info you say? i can find all the info in the world for you sir, that's not the problem. He was basically saying that Starbound will be absolute crap in compairision to Terraria's update, however he himself has no proof on this, i do have slight right to call him a fanboy that of which he could most likely be.
    I see no further point in arueing, however i am factually stating he has no proof (i have some) to say what he did.
    Even if the reason he degrades Starbound is because it's not out doesn't mean that he should make assumptions (i probably shouldn't either, but yea).
    In further account, he has no proof, and i have some, but probably not enough for you to agree\disagree with myself.

    This is my biggest beef with 'bound. Please add gibs! Gore! Let the bodies hit the FLOOOORRRRRR!!!! :viking:

    Also, I'd like it if I could build my ships piece by piece, the standardized ships are cool and all but it would be great if I could make my own Firefly or Star Destroyer. You know, for reasons. :yoda:

    I really can't think of anything I don't like about Starbound based on what I've seen thus far... I don't mind the Po, or 'silly monster designs', or what have you. I'll save my criticisms for when I actually get to play the game and experience the setting and story. But while I don't have complaints, I DO have some concerns I guess... one in particular that worries me; dungeon variation.

    From what I've seen so far in streams and screenshots, the dungeons do look really nice. But my concern is how varied they'll be. I mean, if you've seen one Avian dungeon, have you seen them all? And not just in visual style, but I'm talking in the dungeon's design as a whole. I'd really like it if there was a very, VERY wide range of room templates so that I don't start to feel like every dungeon is the same. I want to be surprised. I want to be presented with platforming challenges, locked rooms with complex mechanisms, traps, secrets! I never want to go into a dungeon having a pretty complete idea of what to expect from it.

    I guess my lesser concern is difficulty. I love the survival aspect of games like this - particularly in finding food and creating shelter. I hope the game isn't too easy or too hard, is what I'm saying. But that's hard to gauge for each person...
