From what we have seen what are your most disliked things in the game?

Well, think of it this way. Basically every living thing expels waste in some way, right? It seems to make a bit of sense that something would come out of that waste. I know it's a bit of a leap, but it's just how I like to look at it. Maybe the Po aren't actually composed of poo, but since they live in crappy places, they're organisms that use the poo for camouflage.

 

I don't think its the realism that is the problem. Its just gross toilet humor no matter how you try to rationalize it.

Perhaps the po are a species of animate fungus that grows/feeds on feces.

 

I just like giving myself alternate reasons for trivial, silly things, so that I won't be bothered by them.

 

That's just my humble and personal opinion, feel free to disagree, ignore and hate me forever if you want, but...

We all know some people don't like the po, some people like the po, and they all have their reasons! (and some ppl doesn't care... cheers)
Instead of going offtopic discussing the "whys" and "why nots" of liking the po, shouldn't we accept that these are different opinions and keep going witht he thread, posting what are the features that each one of us personally dislike? (roofs, I want better roofs)

This way, if a dev drop by this thread some time, instead of po discussion, they'll see the community's idea of what's not working in the game atm, which may lead to shaping the game the way we want

Alright, to get back on topic so Lobo doesn't throw rocks at me I wish there were more, longer, hairstyle options for the Florans. I'm not a huge fan of giant plant bits like some of the humongoid flowers. I also wish we had more color options. That being said, I suppose I can eventually try to create my own at some point and mod it in.

 

I don't post on these poisonous forums often, but congratulations; I have become so bothered.

The Po/Po Golem are completely fitting enemies considering they come from a sewer. I expect radioactive waste, vermin, scavengers, etc. Monsters made of waste make sense to me.

I really, really wish I could wrap my head around people who are trash-talking Starbound (and sometimes the devs) over a couple monsters. Really? If the Po/Po Golem are the most disliked things in the game (according to this thread), then holy crap (intentional), I think we have a great game on our hands.

I think this thread was actually a good idea, to maybe get an idea on what is really unpopular, but this? It seems to me that this forum thinks it's "cool to hate on the Po" simply because they think it represents toilet humor and that only per-adolescents would find it funny. Ugh. Get over it. It's a charming little pair of monsters that make sense, and were animated beautifully. You should be excited that the artists can make even poop look good.

My personal dislike in the game?
Probably the lack of animation on weapons/armor/tiles/blocks/walls, but I've been told it's easily done/possibly planned in the future thanks to how they're programming the game, so...moot point.

TL;DR:

 

The Po because it reminds me of a certain panda

 

The thing I hate about the game is the choice of merging graphic styles. While the 8-bit feel is awesome, those places where you see pure gradients like on planets in the background or light beams. Also 1px strokes like stars and stuff, but more annoying are the gradients.

 

Oh, that reminds me. The second thing that slightly bothers me is that apparently Starbound is going to have a lot of references and memes and such. I think Starbound is looking like its got a rich enough universe that it doesn't really need to rely on things like that.

It reminds me of how much I was soured on Star Wars when C-3PO whipped out the "I've fallen and I can't get up" line.

 

I don't like that races won't have unique functional differences, but thats all I really have a problem with. Oh well~!

The fact that there is no blobs made of Pee called the Pe in comparison with the Po.
Why cant we have cute pee blobs.

 

Outside of toilet humor and memes (sorry just not my bag of chips), I would have to say the sewer dungeon concept.
There is -always- a sewer level, and its old boring and not at all interesting.

Exploring the galaxy.. or exploring where stuff goes you flush the toilet? I know I'd pick alien temples and lost ruins of cities over their waste disposal systems any day.

Edit for Hazmat: My toe, my toe! Still, exceptions to rules doesn't disprove them. Making it a surfing dungeon might.. maybe.

This is Completely wrong.
If you saw truly what starbound has to offer, and not to mention how many more items and block types there will be, 1.2 has nothing on Starbound, and Terraria is going to recieve little to no updates anymore and Starbound will have so many updates that we will never run out of content, and not to mention that all terraria worlds feel the same..it's terrible.
You must be a fanboy.

Besides, how do you know it's completely wrong? You're not playing the beta.You only have screenshots and developer streams to go off of. There might only be what vegetation we've already seen.

Terraria is still being updated. Got a Halloween update last night. We have yet to receive a single update, let alone a release, from Starbound. I don't particularly recall Chucklefish saying they were going to do continuous updates either.

That's not to say that there might not be more in Starbound. Just don't go using derogatory terms against people. Especially for things you can't factually back up.
