Oh, I thought you had to use the manipulator for block placement since it gives it to you in beginning of the game. Learn something new everyday.

    Pingeh Pangalactic Porcupine

Hmmm, no release, the lack of heat and the fact the po.... Exists bothers me. But what bothers me the most is pets.

It was said twice at i49 that when they die, that's it. Why?
You die and are cloned automatically, but you, while alive, can't bring your precious pet back? I mean they can just make it so you can't clone them anywhere but your ship or with some kind of cloning machine, maybe making the price higher depending on how strong the pet is. I was just hoping it wouldn't be like minecraft where all my pets have to stay home so they don't die.

  4. Hazmat

    Hazmat Weight of the Sky

Unless said bright pink deer had razor sharp horns, was highly aggressive and territorial and used it's color for mating rituals. Or if it's predators operated on sense of smell, then the color might only matter for mating. Nature's weird man.

  5. MrLevi

    MrLevi Phantasmal Quasar

Most disliked: Po and Po-related. I'm not a fan of potty-humor.
Most liked: Codex and interesting looking exploration.

  6. OzzytheFist

    OzzytheFist Big Damn Hero

Most disliked feature? The ship system as I understand it currently.

  7. Serenity

    Serenity The Waste of Time

I don't like mondays there in starbound right?

  8. Raybrandt

    Raybrandt Jackpot!

Mostly the Po and Po Golem, and I think singing could use a bit of a tuneup.

Also, no MML support is killing me. I'm a bit of a bard kind of person, to be honest, and MML is my go-to thing.

  9. Skarn

    Skarn Existential Complex

As with most games, probably the death system. "Oh, you exploded into little bits and pieces. Well, don't worry! Your identical clone will carry on your legacy once he's produced in ten seconds. He'll also carry on your equipment, apparently."

I don't really like the UI either. I would rather things just be measured in numbers to be honest, the bars just clutter things up.

On the note of bars, I really wish they would come up with a better idea for hunger and temperature. Right now the effects aren't even noticeable until you're dead.

I also don't like the fact that it takes what feels like a full minute to jump planets every time. Too short for realism, too long for impatient people  (Rather than just waiting it might be interesting if you had to go into a cryo-sleep pod to finish travelling, or something like that.)

I dislike the po because it's obviously meant to be funny, but I can't find humor in it 99% of the time so I have to take it seriously instead. >_>

I'm not sure yet, but I suspect I will come to dislike creature gen. They're fun for the novelty value for a while, but eventually you start to notice the shared traits (especially the ones that stand out, like having a squirrel cockpit for a head), and suddenly everything starts looking same-y, if that makes any sense.

I dislike the fact that there's town guards, but no stealth system to circumvent them. We won't be able to get away with anything I suspect. >_>

And lastly, I dislike the complete and utter lack of cowbell in this game. It needs more of it.

  10. SPOOKS80

    SPOOKS80 Pangalactic Porcupine

The only thing i dislike in the game is the Pixel currency, I'm a strong believer in "If its in my inventory i should be able to craft it" sort of thing, I cant tell you how frustrating it will be to have a blueprint for something and then go out and get all the materials only to find when it comes to crafting it i don't have the Pixels to do so.

    StrayArctic and Aeon like this.
  11. Caidoz

    Caidoz Scruffy Nerf-Herder

Most of what's been said already applies for me as well; Po, Po Golem, no heat, lame death animation, development delays, etc.

I also dislike the Floran cave-speak.

Johan and Sousuke Kuroda like this.
  12. Heartstrings

    Heartstrings Giant Laser Beams

The whole death thing is a bit iffy to me. Apparently, you're either cloned or teleported back right before you die. 1 destroys moralities, and 2 is unrealistic. :(

  13. OzzytheFist

    OzzytheFist Big Damn Hero

    Damn these unrealistic video-games.

Garmellion, M C, Aeon and 1 other person like this.
  14. Epicroyal

    Epicroyal Cosmic Narwhal

I don't recall playing any game that do not respawn you at all or give you a second chance. Games like Fallout New Vegas make you rewind back to a save before you died if that is what you guys are going for, but most games just push you back anyway. So.. Who cares X3!?
Edit: Almost forgot to mention. Not enough blood, amputation, and gore for the deaths of creatures. Although it might be a bit hard to make it work with the random generation, maybe each of the body parts fall off and EXPLODE?

  15. OzzytheFist

    OzzytheFist Big Damn Hero

    I was satirizing Heartstrings.

Some of the stuff is shaping up differently then I expected it to. I can't think of the example I want right now but there are a few things I had being done quite differently in my head. Not sure if it will be a bother for me when I am playing though. I will let you know when I think of an example. I think one thing was the universe possibly being the same one for everyone layout wise, just was not expecting that from the earlier info and it was kinda a shock when I read it. Then there are a few more non-spoiler things I would like to know.

Other then that not really knowing how different the story is for each race. Will it branch out somewhat with story quest (not side) based on your race or will it be the same quest no matter your race just with race appropriate flavor text. I don't want completely different storylines for each, I just want to know if some story quest for apex or different from human or if it is like the tutorial quest were it is basically the same quest with your reason for fleeing and running out of fuel changed based on your race. I guess really does the backstory of your character's race play into your experience in the story at all.

Really my biggest dislike is there are some things i am really not sure how they plan on doing and how well i will like them or not.

  17. Katzeus

    Katzeus Chucklefisherman Chucklefish

Pretty sure there will be different game difficulties, including a 'hardcode' permadeath mode

    Renlou and tassina like this.
  18. Sklobington

    Sklobington Void-Bound Voyager

I'm afraid it'a the Po. Whilst I can put up with it, it's just a tad juvenile. And not the good kind of juvenile, like penguins. It's toilet humour level.

  19. Gnomechompski

    Gnomechompski Scruffy Nerf-Herder

The Poo creatures and sewer dungeon and the instruments thingy.

But more the fact that they spent time on these stuff.

The lack of half bricks and the lack of complete random vegetation that Terraria 1.2 brought to the table. Honestly unexcited about this part of Terraria's update but comparing screenshots of 1.2 to < 1.2 Terraria are beyond compare.

In comparison, a lot of Starbound looks bland (maybe not bland but definitely block-ish) compared to Terraria 1.2 and the only thing Starbound has scenery wise over Terraria is the difference in bricks. But even with the amount of new bricks in Terraria 1.2 I don't even know if Starbound can compete with that.
