Potions = magic, and magic has been confirmed to not be in the game. If you give it a more sci-fi feel, it would be better, but I still think it's overpowered. All you need is a few of them to completely ignore all mobs. It would make level 100 difficulty level planets a walk in the park.
im sorry but Potions =/= magic, friendship is Potions are more on an Alcomey thing then a Magic thing,
why would u want friendship with a monster that temp to kill you if the effects of friendship bullet only last like 2 minutes?
Maybe, to be in keeping with the sci-fi theme, it could be a psychotropic chemical that renders creatures more docile. And maybe it would only work for a very short amount of time so as to keep it from being overpowered.
when i clicked on this i was expecting a NSFL topic, but, i have mixed feeling on this. mayhaps this only works on planets that your current gear is betten than? or only on monsters you have loged when you drink the potion?
There won't be any real "defining factor" that decides if your armor is good or bad. Good armor would depend on your play style (are you more aggressive with weaker armor or more defensive?). And having the log requirement still wouldn't be enough to prevent it from being overpowered; it wouldn't take long to run around a planet killing a bunch of different varieties of mobs so that you would never have to worry about them again using the potion. I personally can't think of a way to have the potion balanced to the point where it's worth using but not overpowered.
Perhaps a certain chemical that renders creatures docile? It would require research to know the creature's "weak spot" perhaps?
I say this should work on only basically creatures that are way below your level, basically to stop them from annoying you with their weakness. If they are of a close level of you or higher then it has no effect on them.
i like this this is like what i said the first is good as it allows you to, with frequent vistits, to have ease of acces. the second is like what i said the the fact of logbooking them.

1. How would this be useful? Well I guess if you are good and then killed all the attracted mobs. 2. Wont you get killed when the potion wears off?
Hmmm because of procedurally generated.. maybe it has a percentage chance of working? And if the creature is higher level then your gear the chance is lowered, but not vice-versa? It could be a spray bottle... I always want to use those spray bottles! Except you could need actual chemicals!
