Has anyone else noticed an increase in the amount of mushroom levels you get in the 80+ levels of the mines? I've had two happen in one run (on level 83 and again on level 86), and another level (can't remember the number) the next day. I've been noticing this happen a lot lately and I don't remember ever getting so many of these before 1.1 came out. Am I just getting really lucky or did it get changed to happen more often? They used to be much more rare for me.
Well, it's definitly not a fixed level where you can get shrooms. I just went through 80-87 in three save files and havent encountered a single one. It's probably RNG and you just got really really lucky ^o^ Maybe the algorhythm got tweaked a bit, b/c i got my first purple shroom quite early in my new save as well
Yeah it's crazy, I mean I'm not complaining cuz the purple shrooms are super useful as food in the mines (especially gold star ones)...but yeah, I don't remember getting this lucky so often in my other saves. lol I have the mushroom cave on my farm as well and I've gotten a good amount of all types from that, so when I get the extra ones in the mines it's just a bonus. >u>
Lucky days will do this. There are a set of rooms that could pop up at those times, and occasionally you can get two of the same kind. I had that happen with the corkscrew room that includes over 20 chests and barrels at the center. EDIT: When you get a lucky level, be sure to do some hoeing. You may be pleasantly surprised by what you dig up.
I think certain floors are more likely to give you mushrooms,but that seems to be a per-save thing. My current game it's floor 83 and 93 that have mushrooms on any slightly unlucky and higher days. The save before that, it was 67, 83, and 95. Unfortunately I haven't exactly strenuously tested it, and it could be confirmation bias.
Very cool! This is something I've been exploring since I read in some YouTube comments that the mushroom floor is always somewhere between 81 and 119. It moves up one level each day, so if it was 93 yesterday it's 92 today. What I found is that it's two levels, say 93 and 94 today, 92 and 93 tomorrow. It always skips floors you can reach by elevator. It was a bit laborious to find it but after I did I could go back and know where to find the two levels, harvest and go back for more the same day in the same place. It's quite handy for a bit of extra cash mid-game (I'm winter of year one, so not really early game but not raking in the big money yet). Another new discovery for me is that the purple ones are really good for getting health and energy even though the red ones are poisonous.
Mushroom floors stay as mushroom floors for the rest of the day, so if you find one on an x1 floor (where x is the tens place) you can reloot the floor over and over again without ever even having to search for a ladder. It's crazily OP an dI don't recommend doing it, but it's a thing that you can do.
Ohh that's interesting info, I'll definitely have to remember that when I go mining! EDIT: My gosh it works! I just went mining, and had mushrooms in level 81 and 84, kept going back to those two and got mushrooms every time. That is seriously helpful, thanks for pointing that out to me! I'll remember that trick now when I find those levels.
