Closed Freezes at Chucklefish

Any time I load it, it just stops there.


I'm running windows XP and I assume thats the problem.

 

Just wait a while. It'll load up. I have the same issue.

 

Yeah, XP is the problem, there's another thread with the exact same issue, and Rad, did it actually load up for you or are you just saying that?

 

It actually loaded up. I'm on win 7 btw.

 

no, you don't have the same issue, some people it just takes while to load up at the logo, others IT DOESN'T. It's bloody irritating seeing people saying that because it makes it seem like a less-game breaking bug, even though its a huge one and a ton of people have it.

 

Basically this. . For XP Users it doesent seem to ever load up. Im tweeking around to see if i can figure anything else out.

 

I'm on windows 8 and i have a similar issue; i've waited about 5 minutes, so i'm gonna try waiting longer, but it doesn't show much progress. the Starbound program in the task manager says its using 17% CPU and 600MB of memory, so one would think its doing things; maybe im not waiting long enough

Edit: after 7 minutes the game went to menu; i just had to wait a while. best of luck to all you guys who it doesn't start for!

Same problem here.
I'm on a laptop running windows xp.
I know, laptops are bad. If I could use my regular PC with windows 7 I'm sure it would run but for now I'm stuck with this.
Maybe tomorrow I'll have back my PCcino.

EDIT: By the way... what is that "safe mode (opengl)" when you start the laucher? What's its purpose?

Ok, now I'm angry.
2nd upgrade (irritated koala) downloaded and installed, now it freezes in a different way: instead of showing me the Chucklefish logo, a bunch of error messages shows up and the game freezes in different points... actually once I saw the chuclefish logo disappear completely and a "LOADING" replaced it (in that moment I hoped that I could finally play the damn game but an error message crushed my dreams).

 

I think its the same error, its just actually telling us now.
