If a console version comes out, maybe if the creators want, we can get it free if we already have the pc version.

the only reason the devs of minecraft gave out copies of the console version for some players is because their terms of service stated that they would get every update and version. that included pocket edition and console version, of course they changed it now. i wanna pay for a console version because porting...porting isn't easy. you tend to have to re-wright every last bit of code from scratch and that takes a long time. i wanna pay people for their hard work.

yeah you're right, instead of free they can give like 30% or 20% discounts.

console versions have sales sometimes so it will be full price for everyone, don't forget that you didn't buy the game in full price anyways! once beta goes up the price of the game should(should is a big word) go up. chances are that if the game goes up it'll be handled by other people so in other words; the updates will take a while. in the end, with a game that's supposed to have constant updates by a special group, the console version will always be a little behind(it also depends on the time-frame between updates). in my opinion the PC version will always be superior to the console version(at least when it comes to starbound)

lol Portfowarding is quite easy, depending on your router type, i honestly can say i would have no problem of explaining how to do it (with a few screenshots of course) and honestly..it's easy, about anyone who really wants to can do it if they really want to.

Yes, port-forwarding is kinda easy if you know how (and have the router access).

Code porting is dang hard even if you know how.

some people enjoy consoles more than pc; it's their preferences. for example, i enjoy puzzle games on consoles rather than pc's

Then why won't they buy it again on console / Wait for console to play it? This isn't a soup kitchen!

Chucklefish has absolutely no obligation to give a console version of the game out for free, nor should they. The terms of our preorders does not cover that, and we shouldn't expect it to. Furthermore, they are still a business and still have to make money on the game. So no, PC owners should NOT get a console version for free. If they want it, they'll have to pay for it like everyone else.

Why should this game be ported to a console? It greatly hinders both the player's experience, and the developer's, it's not an easy job maintaining both versions at the same time. Why would you even need a console, anyways? Just use a controller on your PC.

PC master race, making console version would be a waste of time to everyone, except the 12 year-old crowds that I'd personally like to EXCLUDE from this community.

Please stop making PC gamers look bad.

On topic: For big name devs, this suggestion might hold water... but not for indie devs. Especially not for indie devs who rely on preorders to fund their development. Granted, they'll also have their sales money after release, but I think a large majority of people who want Starbound has preordered it. Indie devs need all the support they can get.
