Weird suggestion, how does a new workstation sound which allows weapons or any other items to be destroyed leaving behind there Element type, which then can be applied to other weapons or over write there current element, so say a sword with a poison element can be salvaged, leaving behind the Poison card, then apply that poison card onto a weapon of choice, any weapon, bows, guns, rocket launchers, quarter staffs, etc, this would be handy if you want to keep your weapon, but need to change its element type, I know something similar called "Weapon Fusion Station" but it requires identical weapons, what i'm suggesting here is any weapon to be broken down for its element card, then applying it to another weapon

No thanks. Screw RNG weapons and deconstructing them. There are mods for that kind of thing already, and FU is not one of them. I would prefer people craft the FU weapons, as they outshine the RNG weapons anyway.

    DraLUSAD Giant Laser Beams

So the hole "Take a weapon element (or make one from scratch) and place it onto another weapon, such as FU" is a bad idea? Be cool to swapping out Elements with any weapon, I mean, I could KILL for attaching a Fire Element to the Cosmic Longsword, or even a Cosmic Element card shoved onto a Sniper rifle

  4. sayter

    sayter The Waste of Time

Didn't say it was a bad idea :) I just have no use for it in FU at present time as it doesn't fit anywhere in the schedule or my current goals. Plus there could be unintended consequences with certain alt-fires causing crashes etc due to some effect types having no elements at all (or no ability to function without an element, in some cases) or similar things. It'd largely be safe on RNG weapons....and I don't really care about RNG weapons because they suck :)

From what I recall you get precursor fluids from putting the enriched uranium into an esssence converter. Ultronium gives the highest amount, enriched plutonium and uranium give less.

More question: After all these updates, it seems I have difficulty finding Densinium? In the old game, I was able to go to a gas giant, and rake in all kinds of ore; densinium, effigium, quite efficiently. Now, the gas giant have little "land" where the ore can spawn. Tested in 4-5 gas giant, same issue. There were some ores on the bottom, but they are on the annoying dense core - which I can't break - even in old game, full power mining cannon + Energy field + Mining gear + All energy regen food, breaking dense core is still a lot of work. Not that they have more densinium (but I didn't check my ore detector Lv3, because well...I can't mine dense core) that I know of.

Hence, my gas giants are rather useless in the end. I guess I am just unlucky?

Where can Densinium spawn? I tried cyber sphere, much better result, but still... very rare. I managed to round up 30 ore, and that was already pretty good. Super dense planet, I thought would make sense, but I can't find any. Any other tips? Except unknown planet, because that is a very huge gamble due to its high tier and not given densinium would appear?

When you select a planet, they show what kind of ores it would have - is this accurate? Past experience seems to point that a planet can have MORE variety than the scanner suggest. Is this true?

Second, can I suggest to improve the pump overall? I know it is kind of minor by the end, but mid game, it's a profitable method. Titanium seems to have a rate of 7/sec and Densinium, which require a hefty six bars, only raise the output to about 10/sec. That's... weak. In the end, it is better to spam titanium pump by sheer number instead of upgrading (but seriously, it lags; I can make a 600 pump farm, but that would probably be terrible, considering 150 pump already made some lags). If the value of densinium pump is higher, say, 30-50 or even higher, it would be much nicer upgrade imo. Heck, even 100 is fine, because it just saves the pain of setting up the pump wiring and overall lag. I got the values from using the item transmission device btw, hook it to a pump and a box or anything. That's where I got the 7/sec and 10/sec. But yes, to be fair, it only is an issue for money farm, so it's just my minor suggestion.

    sayter The Waste of Time

Why? It's still appearing exactly where it always has, and in greater amounts. Simply put: Densinium is not common on Gas Giants and its silly to think you'll get enough from them. I nerfed it there a while back to encourage visiting where its *supposed* to spawn. Look in the proper places and you'll find it more. You'll want at least tier 5+ to make certain the veins are substantial enough (ideally tier 6 to ensure it spawns at intended volume). Pay attention to your planet navigation UI and you'll know where it appears.

No, it isn't true. It displays any ores present on that planet, but gives no indication of the *amount* on said planet.

Nope. They're fine. +3 per second (7, to 10) is +180 per minute. That increases output from 420 to 600, which is plenty decent.

Pumps are designed to make life easier, and they do that exactly as well as they need to. I don't care if having a ton is laggy: You aren't intended to place tons of them. FU is not designed to be Factorio. The stations that have such production bonuses are not intended to be placed in large amounts, because each one is running separate lua scripts at the same time...it's going to lag when you have tons of them.

I think what those people mean is many mini biomes can have ores attached to them not normally on the planet they are found on. Sometimes I get very lucky and find a biome with say, densinium on a savanna world for example. The game doesn't show that in the world scanner.

  10. sayter

    sayter The Waste of Time

I'm pretty sure it does show *most* such ores, actually. But if not, I imagine that is because subbiomes are ignored for the scan. Nothing I can do about that, if so.

Whoops, I always thought (and gathered them, I think) in Gas giants. Guess I was mistaken. Yeah, I'll check the other planets - So far, I only see cyber sphere, but I hope there are another planet with bigger yield.

    2. Scanner
Thanks, between this and sayter's response about planet tier and ores availability, I got what I want to know. I guess for best result I should try Tier X (gulp) since that yield the most ore?

    3. Pump
Fair enough, I may have overdone it with mass production. Thanks anyway.

cyberspheres , infernus, dark sulphuric are your best bets

  13. SubmarineKnight

    SubmarineKnight Starship Captain

Thank you very much, infernus has a lot of ores. It isn't listed on the scanner though, weird. That explains where I got small amount of densinium ore in the past (I was mining pyreite in the past).

One last thing, if you don't mind does dangerous/end game planet have differing tier level? I am just curious - like, would infernus planet have differing tiers? or is tier x just for unknown?

tier 8+ planets are unique to Unknown and Strange Seas, and other "random" planet types.

I love unknown seas, found one with beer, one that had honey, with elder, acid, and not quite sure what was below those two, there were 4 types in a one screen area.
I think the most hilarious one was the grav liquid planet, could not dive, lol.

You could however safely descend into it by building a downwards tunnel filled with drains :).

I still remember the (thankfully now fixed) super gravity insta-die by plummeting a million miles an hour bug strange seas used to have.

I'm sorry to be a bother, but these wands projectile seem to be missing a frame, even though they leave a glow trail

yes, and as a mod maker yourself, you know the importance of a log here. If the log shows no issue, then it isn't missing a frame and instead simply needs a minor timing edit. No log, no service.

edit: yea, no error in the file. its fine.

4 frames defined in the frames file

4 frames defined in the projectile file
total animation time 0.4, so 0.1 per frame

likely, just needs a timeToLive added. Without looking myself I can't be sure, of course. Maybe later. It's uselessly minor, so I don't care all that much in this case anyhow.
