Enhance your starbound experience in every area. Massive mod.

Not much difference between spawning/killing endlessly and using /spawn item TBH.

I'd rather the spawns be a bit more balanced, and the drop rates of the stuff more reasonable. *shrug* That way you get the stuff naturally over time, and you don't run into wall-to-wall gleaps and bulbops.

I am so sick of gleaps and bulbops everywhere. It just gets old fast when 90% of everything you fight is a gleap or a bulbop.

I think the issue with this was a version mismatch between client and server. Since it's a Steam Workshop modpack, assets mismatch had to be disabled due to mod load order issues- which means that it also caused version issues. Updating the server fixed it.

Are XS mechs supported? Mainly with the mass aspect if not anything else.

Also I've been having trouble finding the dreadnought mech parts on this forum, are they in the steam workshop?

    yes. and yes.

That is not the entire log, and is therefore utterly useless to me. From the looks of it, it is failng to load an FU Asset which likely means you did something wrong.

You could always make a patch mod that adjusts the hunter treasurepools to a bit more favorable percentages. Wouldn't be hard.

And oh my gosh yes the bulbops are insufferable. Why yes! An annoying enemy that moves ridiculously fast, is ridiculously hard to hit, and bounces all over the place? Let's have a biome with nothing but that enemy! And put it on the starter planets, great idea! (At least they have healing water... usually.)

you mean healing water the same said devil spawned monsters just love to stay in?

  8. Mooncalf99

Exactly. Bulbops ruin everything. In fact, I'm surprised that the Ruin isn't populated by hordes and hordes of the vile things, or *is* one.

I still remember the day that someone at the FU team thought it was a great idea to add RED bulbops, though luckily I haven't seen them since I complained about them and sayter fired the game up and go "uh yeah these things SUCK." and I never saw them again haha.

I think someone at CF was smoking something they shouldn't have been smoking when they came up with the wretched things. I've considered writing a mod that patches them out and replaces them with something else. Maybe harmless critters that sit still. Or maybe just modify bulbops' attributes to where they do nothing but sit still and be helpless while you murder them.

I would almost be interested in learning how to modify enemies JUST to do that. That's how much I HATE the wretched things.

I wonder when they were removed? I rarely had to much trouble with them, I just avoided them or used fire weapons. I do hate when you get a huge swarm of the normal ones though. I still don't find them as troublesome as some enemies in other games, like the baby karkians in Deus ex 1.

What I find annoying? The flying things that produce ice clouds all the time. If your even slightly undergeared for the planet(like I often am cause I like to go to higher tier planets sooner, I HATE HATE HATE forests and lush worlds), they screw you up. They force yo to not go certain places by "Zoning" you, blocking off areas with ice clouds. And like so many flying enemies they can be difficult to hit sometimes and unlike other flyers they NEVER come close to you. I usually favor a good shotgun with a tighter spread in dealing with them, or machine pistols.

They weren't removed. Just relocated so that they never appear on starter worlds.

Bulbops and gleaps aren't bad once you figure out how to deal with them. It's the initial adjustment period that makes them a problem in the early game. I think they do well to get you moving and not camping like a jackass, though. So I see no harm in them as-is. Variants, on the other hand, are a welcome idea I may add some more of.

  12. Umbra420

    Umbra420 Cosmic Narwhal

    Lighting bulbop.

Bounces around while creating damaging thunder clouds at its highest jump and creating shock traps once it lands.

    Fire bulbop.

Has fire breath ability of the fire Fox and spawns lava where it lands.

    Ice bulbop.

Jumps just before you hit them and thus can only be damaged while in the air. Creates an ice shockwave once it lands.

hey sayter out of every vannila unique mods and the unique ones added by your mod whitch is your favoret? mine ends up being the shadowtop.

  14. Xylia

    Xylia Tiy's Beard

I dunno, I still think they are obnoxious at any level, because of how freaking fast they move, how they tend to spawn in huge numbers, and how freaking much damage they do. it seems like they do 50% more damage than other normal mobs, and that combined with how fast they can move (they can jump almost as fast as a Sprinting player!) makes any planet with sub-biomes that have them utterly annoying to downright impossible without /admin, ESPECIALLY those red ones.

Possibly the most vile and evil thing ever added to the game. Anytime I see those stupid things, I usually just throw /admin on because screw it. They are just too cheap and annoying otherwise. Kinda hard to "not camp" when there's ridiculous terrain everywhere and they respawn and respawn and respawn and respawn to where you can't do anything but fight off the constant respawns. Even if you do kill the damn things, more of them will pop up before you can do anything about it.

And that's assuming nothing else deadly is in the area, such as those huge trolls that punch out swaths of blocks. I don't know if they still do, but they used to spawn on Mountainous worlds and/or a couple other worlds where you'd see the rock trolls AND red bulbops and that was just utter ridiculous. Pretty bad when common enemies are more dangerous and difficult to deal with than the freaking Cthulhu.

    sayter The Waste of Time

The red ones are actually pretty easy to deal with now that I lowered their annoyance factor. Bulbpos are *easily* dealt with man. Get a spear and they cant even touch you.Hold it in front. Invulnerable.

Well, it's good to hear you changed them then. I was speaking of past experiences.
