Does Faulty Erchius Converter exsit in the current version? It seems ... somewhat more efficient than the normal one.

    SpazDiesFirst360.0 Phantasmal Quasar

Shows up in the github version. I went to the repository and typed in "Faulty Erchius Converter" and it showed up.

This mod is fantastic! I was so close to giving it a one star rating due to so many errors, then when I went to check for a version number, found it no where. I was wondering how can a mod with over 500+ response's mostly positive have so many errors, unless I did something wrong and I spent hours researching to make sure I didn't mess up. Turned out I didn't mess up and neither did the author. I tried the Steam version, as I got both the stand alone and steam version from humblebundle and found out I somehow got the wrong version, and once I got the right one, everything ran perfectly. My kids saw the huge difference so ended up buying several more licenses so they could play too and I can definitely say, this is one of the best mods so far! Great work!!!!

Oh, I see, thanks for the clarification. I think my cold resistance is 30%...ish? With the Augment and hazard set (and I am still awright agains the cold without the set). There is that "Cold 1" status
under my health/energy/hunger bar all the time though, but my health is not decreasing (that I notice of). (note: playing as human)

I am gonna check it again later, still grasping on the mechanics atm.

Hmm. 30% and you're fine? Odd. Maybe it's 30% for moderate? I thought it was 40%. I do know, however, that it works something like that. If you don't have enough, SAIL will usually complain, though I think if you're close to it the damage will be so minimal that you usually don't notice.

Anytime you are trying to find something, don't use the wiki. Instead, use GitHub searches.

    https://github.com/sayterdarkwynd/FrackinUniverse

^^Go here, and at the top you'll see a search bar that says "This repository:"

Simply typing "bamboo" and hitting the enter key produces a lot of results, but one in particular that I saw was relevant was for the cockpit files. According to said Cockpit files, Rainforests supposedly have bamboo on them.

Have you tried looking on a Rainforest planet?

Hey thanks! With that search I found out that bamboo is in the FU mob loot drops at 2.66%

There's a rainforest world in my home system, I'll give it a go.

There were bamboo trees which dropped bamboo shoots, but not bamboo, and my greenhouse doesn't seem to have a recipe for bamboo.

The recipe page for bamboo says
    • bamboo is learned from bamboo shoot
    • there are no recipes for bamboo
The recipe page for bamboo shoot says
    • bamboo shoot is an ingredient for bamboo
    • bamboo shoot teaches bamboo
Does anyone have bamboo in their game, and if so how did you get it?

According to github, wild bamboo can be found on black slime bog, flower forest, pine forest and primeval forest.

I've always been of the opinion that there should always be an alternative way to getting something that doesn't require RNG. Making it so the only way to craft a seed is to first find it in the wild, IMO, kinda invalidates the whole idea behind making new plants with gene research.

Every single plant in the game should be learnable from another planet. Yes, a plant should teach itself, but there should be another plant that teaches it too because more likely than not, the reason you are wanting to craft plants is because you can't find it naturally occurring, usually due to terrible RNG.

I remember when this was once an issue with crystal plants, and there was a time where the only way to get Shadow Touched (or whatever that gene was called) was by a plant that required Shadow Touched to make, so you get this catch-22 where you can't make the plant without the gene, but you can't get the gene without making the plant and the only way out of it was to find a seed that gives Shadow Touched naturally, which was a royal PITA. Thankfully now we find stuff like this in loot boxes far more often.

I suppose if you get too tired of the problem, you can simply type /admin and open the greenhouse and make a bamboo seed and then type /admin again to turn admin mode off. At least that'd save you hours of scouring aforementioned planets hoping that you get the right biomes AND the right seed distributions AND actually find said seeds.

I have bamboo in my game, used it among other things to build my floran mega city tree(kinda like that huge tree in Avatar). It's not a drop or a farmable, it's a craftable block. If you've picked up the shoots then you should be able to craft it in your workbench. Once picked up it gives you two recipes, one where you craft the block with plant fibers and timber, and the other one where you use the bamboo shoots(50 I think) to craft a small stack of the blocks.

As far as I know, you can get any plant by way of genetic modification without picking it up in the wild(the most basic seeds can be crafted without genes), each new plant you make has a different set of genes than its progenitors(excluding miracle grass and a few others) and works like a pyramid scheme to get to the more complex genes.

That's not entirely true, although Sayter has corrected a few of those. For instance, Snowberries no longer require Cryogenic. However, Immunization can currently only be found in seeds that require Immunization. (Fortunately, if you can find a Sulphuric planet, you're guaranteed to find Whitespine.) Nether-Touched is also tricky, since the only seed that provides it that doesn't also require it is the Meatvine Bulb... which instead require flesh strands, which means you have to find a flesh biome or Atropus planet... yeah, the sacrifices you make for science, eh?

I suggest make all race artifact augments craftable at Svetlana's Stall, so one no longer need to abandon old save for those newly added quest rewards.

For nether touched(and also the wretchel seed

Fayshroom teaches Tetherhook weed. Cinnamon teaches you Fayshroom. Fayshroom is needed also to make tetherhook.

Also, try getting pussbloom from the ansilus network if you are having trouble, that unlocks the meatvine bulb to.

Fayshroom can be made from stealth, pussbloom, mammalian, and DNA samples.

    So a tech tree is

Pussbloom & Cinamon and crystal plant first for genes and seeds.

Pussbloom can make meatvine easily and teaches meatvine.
    Cinamon unlocks fayshroom.
Cystal Plant extracts into necessary stealth for fayshroom.

fayshroom is needed for and teaches Tetherhook.

    Tetherhook unlocks Wretchel.

Thats an easy way anyways, there are still genes you have to unlock along the way but the first 3 are very easy to find with some luck. Although Wretchel can be found easily with no effort on strange seas.

Tyvok Dark is unlocked from vextongue which is unlocked from miracle grass for immunization again from what i read in the wiki. I never tried immunization though. But I found darklight on chromatic worlds, it's hard to see though.

Another question from me : what difference is there from upgrading mining laser from the tinker table to it's next level/tier and mining bench - that consumes manipulator upgrade?

Is there a difference? Do they stack? Will i lose the mining bench bonus if i upgrade say, level5 mining laser and then later upgrade it to level6 variant?

Not my point at all. Unlocking the recipes isn't enough - you need to have the required genes and materials as well.

Tetherhook, Wretchel, Meatvine and Shadow Stalk are the only ones you can extract Nether-Touched from. But Tetherhook and Wretchel both require the same gene to be crafted, and Shadow Stalk only unlocks by finding a wild Shadow Stalk seed. If you want to obtain the Nether-Touched gene without being lucky enough to find wild seeds (or find the gene as loot), Meatvine is your only recourse. And making it requires flesh strands, which can only be found in certain biomes. Hence why it's a bit of a bottleneck.

How's the Stealth gene nowadays? I remember that also being a pain. Was that improved too?

Flesh strands can be found on alien planets to and actually very frequently(almost consistently). Or found randomly underground on any planet. You don't have to go to an atropus for that. Though darklight flower can also be found on chromatic worlds very easily once you actually keep an eye on the surface your bound to come across it. Though I consistently seem to have rotten "game crash" luck on chromatics in that every time there is a crash(which I report every time it happens with a log file) it's often when I decide to go to a chromatic for once.

Crystal plant can provide stealth gene and can be found on crystaline worlds.
