youre using aimable melee for the first one, so i dont give a crap. That is a 2h weapon and does not normally stab downward. Patch it yourself.

Aqua slice is already fixed. Once again you are out-of-date.

I accidentally locked myself out of completing it, not by dying to a laser by walking into a door exiting the second/third rest area and walking back just as it closed by mistake/force of habit.
Oh well, I'm guessing the translocator is the primary treasure to get out of it anyway. The rest I'm assuming is just random junk. Not too big of a loss.

Well, here are a few ideas. (Weapon ideas mostly, maybe some others)

Vanilla Boss item upgrades: Either through the NanoFab or through some other item, you could take the vanilla boss drops and upgrade them.

    • Erchrius Horror eye. Can be upgraded to Fire (beam leaves fires behind, secondary explodes into fire like a molotov) with pyrite, Ice with isogen (beam leaves behind ice, freezes enemies, secondary is a huge block of ice), electric (eye beam homes on targets. Secondary causes an electrical repulse explosion rather than launching a projectile) Bloody eye (with Quietus. Eye shoots a bloody spray that causes insanity rather than a beam. Secondary shoots a pussy ball that explodes into pus) or Cosmic (much longer beam that does cosmic damage. not sure about the secondary attack).
    • Ixodoom claw: Can be changed into various other types of weapons (a pair of shortswords, claws, daggers, or a hammer, spear, etc). They all do poison/acid damage.
    • Asra Nox's Sol Katana: Upgradable to the Aetherium Katana. This works almost exaclty like the regular sol katana, except first it does cosmic damage, and secondly its shards explode into seeking hailfire gun projectiles.
    • Staff of Kluex: Upgradable to Staff of the Cultivator. The primary attack is changed: First attack summons a black hole which sucks everything (Except you) into it and holds it there. The ones after that work like the vanilla Staff of Kluex (where they summon balls that shoot a projectile when the attack button is let go of) except they are all aimed at the black hole instead of where your mouse is. Every ball alternates between different types of damages (fire, ice, electric, poison, radiation, shadow, cosmic). Secondary attack is a portal-ball attack which summons balls of different damage types.
    • Miniknog Missile Launcher: can change its mode of fire. (Homing Missiles) missiles home in on target. (MIRV) missiles explode and fire a spread of more missiles. (Guided) Missiles will home in on your cursor. (Rapid Fire) Rather than charging, the missiles will simply fire one at a time in a chain. (Mixed) mixed versions of the above.
    • Bone Dragon Pistol: Can be upgraded to different gun type versions. (assault rifle) rapid fire bone dragon projectiles. (Shotgun) bone dragon spreadfire. (Napalm thrower) long lasting flamethrower (chemical pistol) swaps out the bone dragon flame for burning chemicals. (Radiation) swaps out the flame for a radioactive green one that causes rad burn (sniper) fire concentrated into a molten beam that burns targets and can even burn through blocks a little ways.
    Other weapons:

More boomerangs: We seriously need more boomerang/boomerang weapons.
Repulser block: Magnaorbs that don't do much damage, but push enemies away. Great for attacking enemies at a long distance, and keeping them there. (secondary fire: instead of a shield, the orbs grab enemies and bring them to you).
1 handed Magnaorbs: I think you got something nice going with this. There needs to be more of these.

    Other things:

    Robots:
    • Regen Bot: a bot that comes with a portable healing generator, healing you and your crew members alike.
    • A.M.P.S: Short for Auxillery/Autonomus Mech Power Supply, this robot is an alternative/supplement to the mech repair gun. When deployed with a mech, it will charge the mech periodically. NOTE: not designed for space usage.
    Techs:
    • Kinetic Dash: Dashing is now an attack that hurts enemies. Comes in three tiers.

    A small issue.

"Glowing Mushroom" seems to be the name of both an item you can make in the Gene Design Lab as well as a block item. The issue was made apparent to me when I looked up how to extract Fungal Ichor from the Lab Directory and it lists Glowing Mushroom. Which one? Apparently the block item one as the former one from the Gene Design Lab gives you something else. Only found out about the block one after checking the wiki to see why the other one wasn't extracting right.

So yeah, renaming of these items to avoid this confusion in future would be nice, thanks :)

@sayter : I remember a long time ago we discussed the possibility to use the Manipulators that you can craft to equip yourself with that manipulator to replace the vanilla one.

Now, I know that for obvious reasons (you need each to upgrade it to get to the next one) why you don't have this functionality in the game already, but is this still possible to do? I can't remember the /admin commands that one would use to do it... something having to do with essentialitem but I can't seem to find it.

I don't want to have to dump the thing on a hotbar button, I just want to replace the vanilla MM with the one I crafted and stash the one I crafted in a locker somewhere. Perhaps we could dump an in-game codex book that unlocks when you make the Morphite Manipulator that explains to the player how to do this?

    1. They work well for me so I'm not sure what you're talking about here.

    2. You really shouldn't be hitting cyberspheres untill you're REALLY late tier.

    3. There are far better places to get Densinium. Gas Balls for starters (Mobs aren't a problem there. Fall damage and not being able to teleport back out are your biggest issues. Bring fall damage protection of some sort and and some sort of emergency teleporter. Or bring either one of the FU Aircraft or Explorer Pod mod. Best thing to do is fall to the bottom and hope there isn't lava or some other dangerous water. (some have lava, some have nothing, some have healing water seas, etc. I think the ones with clouds tend to have healing water seas, but could be wrong.) Since you're more likely to find Densium at the bottom anyway.
Oh, and pressure protection. You need that too.

Use betting weapons on mechs. All honesty gas balls are much more useful for densinium mining. I would not go to a cybersphere for densinium, I'd go there for a permanent base for atmosphere condensers(and you'll still need turrets everywhere to really defend yourself). Atmosphere condensors get some very useful materials for things like high end batteries and devices demanding the trickier kinds of processors. Of course with the very, very sharp reduction in cost of morphite(both phase matter and regular morphite being usable now) it's not quite as useful as it used to be.

These days for a super high tech quantum level base I always look at Aether seas or irradiated planets.

You don't "lose" anything by messing with mods. Your save data is located in \storage\player\ and \storage\universe\. The \mods\ folder does not contain any data related to your save file(s).

The worst that could happen is that you boot up and you crash because you removed a mod your character can't load without, OR, you'll end up with some PGIs in your inventory if you had modded items.

That said, you can safely delete the \mods\frackinuniverse\ folder and then replace it with a new one and you won't lose anything at all.

Though I would highly suggest you go to the mod's overview and find a link to my GitHub guide on how to update the mod without having to mess with folders at all once you get it set up. It's a simple and easy copy-paste one URL link, hit enter and you're done 30 seconds later once you get it set up.
