works like a pet tether, otherwise your servitor disappears, but ive found it is kinda buggy anyway, it tends to ignore enemies, or shut down when your off screen. at least in my experience with a Servitor mkI, they tend to not be much use.

Do the protoworld have insanity status inflicted weather? When I digging the ground, suddenly I and other creature have insanity debuff.

Some worlds have periods where voices just appear out of nowhere and cause insanity to everything.

Proto worlds aren't alone in this. I've had this happen on Crystal worlds, Chromatic worlds, Aether worlds, and I forget what else.

Could someone explain how to use the startech storage bus filters? Like how i can make only certain items go into it and stuff like that

Just put @ at front of you want to put inside it. For example: @material. If you just want to put specific item, you just type its name on the filter.

Okay, so I'm seriously stuck trying to figure out this whole "automated ocean biome fuel/power system/automated self-watering hydroponics lab."

For the longest of time, I've simply ran on the usage of creating an "infinite" power supply, basically chromatic dirt enclosing solar panels and wiring the solar panels to what I need. I know this is somewhat cheating, but I've always stuck with the axium of "keep it simple, stupid." I don't bother with batteries or generators simply because it overcomplicates things IMO. And as for hydroponics plants Just giving them healing water by hand (also done on an ocean biome by mixing them together by hand.)

Yet I'm now afraid that Sayter is going to patch the solar panel "exploit" away one of these days because muh realism. So, I'm trying to switch over to using generators (which up until now I have NEVER used for this reason. That being more complicated and tedious than is necessary.) I hear people go on about how its easier

I cannot for the love of me figure out how item transfer devices works. I read the codex, yet as I've said it might as well be in daedric because I understand nothing from it.

So I've deduced I need three things: A generator (I admin moded a quantum just for testing purposes), a pump, a centrifuge (a gas centrifuge), several wall storages (I have 10 in inventory just to be safe) several item transference devices (ditto), and several storage devices.

So far, I've figure out how to put the water from the pump into one of the wall storage boxes. But that's it. I have no idea how to get the water into the centrifuge, get the deuterium to the generator. And that's just the basic stuff. Nevermind trying to figure out how to convert water into healing water, put that healing water into the hydroponics trays.

I click on the ITD, I put some water into one of the transference device slots, I click around on stuff, try to type stuff, nothing works. So here I sit, feeling like a massive retard while my wall box fills up with water that goes nowhere.

@rylasasin : It has been said before, that unless Chucklefish changes how Light and Lighting works, Sayter cannot patch the Solar Panel exploit, because it is impossible code-wise.

Solar Panels calculate how much energy they produce by using a combination of ambient light level that's detected by the game, and elevation (the Y coordinate). There is no code that says whether the ambient light comes from the sun, chromatic dirt, or even Cheap Lights (which I find to be the most effective solution).

Until or unless Chucklefish makes it so that Sunlight and Artificial Light are different, Sayter can't actually change how Solar Panels work unless he removes the Light calculation (this means they would function at night), OR, removes Solar Panels entirely (which I don't see him doing either).

EDIT: With that said though, panels are not very effective space-wise. They take up a lot of room and don't produce a whole heck of a lot of power (which can be said of solar panels IRL). IMO, I would make batteries of various sizes and use a combustion generator at first and eventually build a quantum generator. One combustion generator can fill an 8000u 6v battery in the matter of a minute or two with like 20 or so oil. Oil is so pathetically easy to get that you should never have trouble keeping the thing fueled. Just top the batteries off as you use power. You can even wire up to 3 batteries to said generator and it still doesn't take THAT long to fill the batteries up while you're doing other stuff.

And then..... THEN... once you get the Quantum Generator... if you get lucky enough and find a good source Elder Fluid, you got it made. Or even if not, protocite cells work pretty nicely too. One cell is enough to fill 8000u battery and then some last I checked.

Using batteries and generators is not -that- bad, though I would honestly use panels for anything that's constantly running (like the atmospheric condenser).

Simple version: only water in box, no need for filtering items.
Storage Bridge got input (blue) and output (red).
Use red to connect crate with this Bridge to input of ITD.
Open this ITD. In "Output slots" set 1 (you need to put water only to first slot of centrifuge) and prress green +
Connect output of ITD (red) to input of centrifuge (blue)

Next step: connect output of centrifuge (red) to input of new ITD.
Open this ITD and set 1 in "Input Slots", press +
You want ignore this slot and get items from all other slots, so press "I" under "-" in Input Slots. This "I" must turn to green
Now connect output of this ITD to Storage Bridge on crate, where you want store items from centrifuge

Add some power to centrifuge and it is ready to work

If you want auto supply reactor with fuel just add one more ITD.
Connect output of second crate to input of third ITD and drop one rod of deuterium to filtering slot of this ITD
Connect output of ITD to input (blue) on generator

Okay, I haven't managed to figure out how the pump-water transfer works but my friend and I got the supply chain somewhat going. You need to use the item filters provided in the ITD.

So if you wanna take water out from something and put it somewhere else:
    1. Set down the ITD, put water (or things you want the ITD to take or not take) into the first filter slot.
    2. Now, link water storage to input (ALWAYS the 2ND BLUE Input) of ITD,
    3. then link the output of the ITD to the water-using-thing.
For a centrifuge, there are multiple slot boxes for items to go: namely 1 Input Box and several Output Boxes. These boxes correspond to the Input and Output number in the ITD, from topleft to bottomright; 1, 2, 3, etc. If you want to control the ITD to ONLY take from the output, you can put 1 in -- wait, I forgot how this works. I used item filters for everything. Something to do with INPUT only taking item from that slot or OUTPUT putting items to that slot.

From that I set up my Neonmelon Dosh Churner and Xith/Aether Sea Condenser farms. While my friend set up a Ultronium Centrifuge Manufactory.

EDIT: The guy above beat me to it, with better explanation too.
POST-SCRIPT: Yeah, the manuals are indecipherable. I had a headache trying to figure out what the Input/Output slots do.

Have the phase gauntlets been fixed yet? Attempting to craft them will consume the resources and then crash the game.
