Yaaay!

1.3 is finally stable.

I think I'm going to wait a couple days for the dust to settle (that and I got some RL junk coming up next few days anyways), though, but I'll soon be "back" from my little Starbound/FU haitus. I'm going to be SO lost because everything will be new/changed, but I suppose that helps keep me from getting bored of the game too easily.

 

You sure did. The others seem to be lacking basic reading comprehension.

I was exploring an ice waste today (FU v5.3, Starbound v1.3) and noticed you can place torches underwater. Is that an FU thing or a new vanilla feature?

 

quick question for the mechs. is it possable to make a platform that can be powered to charge the mechs on a planet?

 

Vanilla bug, I noticed that in the vanilla threads where somebody was asking about that.

And dear Lord, I forgot how long SB takes to load with mods installed... ~5 minutes before you even see the CF logo lol. Wish they'd streamline that somehow.

Wow how many mods you running? I only got 8 and it loads as quickly as vanilla.

 

I only have FU, Frackin Music, Frackin Races, and the Firrhna Project. Oh, and a hotbar mod + cinematic skip.

 

Brinestar is pretty sweet. Even has similar music.

 

SB 1.3: FU + 20 other mods (felins, enhanced storage, bk3k inventory, nostalgic greenery etc.)
30 sec from clicking game in steam to playing
Maybe you need ssd?

I have another problem.
10 centrifuges eats all my free memory (12+ Gb) in less than 30 min

 

then dont use 10 centrifuges. There's a thought. lol

 

Shouldn't need an SSD for a pixel graphics game, lol.

And besides, with the ridiculous frequency of updates... well those SSDs have limited number of writes to them.

And for the record, not blaming @sayter or FU... I'm just saying it seems to me we could use some optimizations or something.

Don't see why someone would need TEN centrifuges anyways, given they process 1,000 units of liquid in what, like 10 seconds last I checked?

 

maybe they're super lowtech? IDK, but it'd explain why.

 

So I wound up getting bored and started today... I see Bone Wand is just as fun as ever. Was glad to see a quest rewarding leather, I remember consistently running into problems while trying to make early armors due to a lack of leather. Great to see that was fixed!

But meh, out of time already for now... will hopefully get more time with it tomorrow.

 

I found two bugs, potentially tied to FU :
- Pet healing station duplicate the capture pod
- Monster picture in the capture pod is too big (http://hpics.li/8b929ff)

 

Emergency!!!!

Crash on landing on wasteland planet and I cannot get my character off it! The game instantly crashes the second I load my character as she automatically spawns on the planet!

Edit: Ok i managed to save the character by deleting the world she was on so the game had to reconstruct it.
