Hard to update it when you illegally download it. This is user #6 in the last few months pulling this crap.

Folks: If you are going to illegally download software, download the appropriate version. Second, don't report bugs while using said incorrect version to run mods that are not even capable of running on the version you are running.

If you *aren't* downloading it illegally : Update your damned program.

Fact: FU will *not* run on *any* old version of starbound because I adopt all new features when added, making it impossible to use on the previous version. This is never going to change. New features get used. Added bonus: it screws over the pirates.

So, been updating my scientific laboratories now my ship has gotten a bit more room to work with, and been fully dedicating myself at present to gathering genes from all the plants I'll been accessing myself with. Currently, however, I'm noticing that not all 'crops' are able to be shoved in the genetic extractor I'm using at present. I'm not sure if this is just a generic forgotten thing, or something I don't got access to with my current lab equipment, but thus far at least Beakseed and Boltbulb offers no genetic discoveries when tossed into the Xeno Research Lab. I'll try and point out others when I run into them thus far.

There's quite a few gaps in it. I used to have a list I meant to propose, but I seem to have lost it. Only thing I could find is a list of plants that, once picked, don't regrow, and in fact seem to have their plant removed from gameplay.
Just for the sake of getting it out there.

Crystal plant, dunestalk, all versions of glowing mushrooms, vanilla mushrooms, sugarcane, boltbulb, carrot, currentcorn, dirturchin, eggshoot, wheat, toxictop, wartweed, diodia, kiwi, neonmelon, oculemon, pineapple, pussplum, reefpod, feathercrown, bolbohn, potato.

Well, can confirm that a lot of those xeno materials do give genes cept for at least boltbulb and and beakseed, but yeah, for the Sugercane part? that's probably due to a mod, Sugarcane's giving proper sugar now. Then again, you have said that was an old list so there was probably discrepancies. I'll keep soldiering on with my exploration of plant development and keep track of those that don't work.

It depends on what you mean by "nice towne". Do you mean like different races' settlements? If so, they tend to appear on most planets.

produce was added as an afterthought, and was intended to be removed. that station is meant for *seeds*, not produce. if a seed doesnt work, lemme know. Produce, I don't care, really.

Fair enough. If I find that list, I'll trim out any produce from the xenostation and just keep the seeds.

Make sure it's something with knockback too. Rocket launchers work well, as do shotguns.

    Hmm...

I have to admit, the first time I saw this mod I reconsidered because of all the sweeping changes likely to irreprably change my character and all the stuff they've worked on, but recently I've been interested in trying it out. Since this edits planets and the universe is there a way to preserve that before downloading frackin universe, or is this a point of no return?

as per the main page: backup your files in starbound/storage/ somewhere. its a one-way trip.

may as well do so anyhow, as its better to simply wipe your universe and characters for FU, so you have a "clean" start. you dont *have* to, mind you... but youll get lost in progression very quickly , being new to it.

Checked the starbound.log. Seems to be throwing a memory error?
