RELEASED FrackinUniverse 6.4.3

Enhance your starbound experience in every area. Massive mod.

By the way, although it takes time and resources, you can extract Xithricite, Isogen and Pyreite from their respective planets' atmospheres using atmospheric, uh, whatever they're called, the blue and white towery things. The ores are a rare output, but once set up, it saves you the hassle of random digging.

Precisely. I do not have the required space, but crafting your own is another fast way to gather some of the rarer resources :)

Yes, I know, but it requires the player to remain at said planet fot the atmospheric condensers to work. So it isnt really worth it :/

Except you gotta stand around and do nothing while you wait for the condenser to work because it won't work if you're not ON the planet. And unless you use watchers, there's not much you can do other than AFK...

Yes, but there is a seperate upgrade anvil added by FU that can upgrade to level eight.

Which allows me to go eat lunch while ores are slowly being generated.

It does, but believe me, it takes A LOT of time to generate ONE of those higher tier ores. So, unless you are running on a lot of power and condensers, it isnt worth it.

I believe these ores should be easier to come across. Or at least in larger nodes, like protocite and its cousins.

Got a problem of sorts. Magma frame.
Instead of enabling the bees to work day/night, It stops their production completely when placed inside the slots.

Well, that's one of the wonders of leaving your computer on overnight.

Could you tell me how to get it in game? On GitHub I found a thing called "TEST Upgrade Anvil", but I don't think that one is obtainable.

As far as power, you just need some solar panels set up next to some cheap (or ship) lights and that would work infinitely, all the time. Get a bunch of these, and you're bound to eventually see some ores.

Though to be honest, it's a LOT of setup, a LOT of resources, and a LOT of hassle.

To be honest I really don't think that these ores should be THAT rare that this is the best way to get them. I can see being a little rare, but I'm thinking their rarity is probably not intended to be that rare, and I would guess it is probably on sayter's bucket list of things to do when he can find the time amidst whatever else he's got going on.

Hopefully. I spent a lot of time digging and only got 12 xithricite crystals (after arcsmelting). So, yeah, I think they should be fairly easier to come across.

Then again, few recipes call for them, and if you have an operation that needs to be that big, then you can spend some resources and time collecting too.

The more Condensers you set up, the fatser the process becomes.

Resource-wise, getting enough condensers together does take quite a bit, but the setup itself is pretty straightforward.

This gives me about two pieces of xithricite a minute, and if you slap an observer or two, you can spend that time tooling around the underground level.

Holy hell, dude. Those new bee noises are...pretty harsh.
Legit, came across a hive microdungeon earlier, and I was extremely worried I was going to wake people up as I got right up on them, despite my speakers not being that loud.

Anyway. Compiling a more comprehensive list of gardening related things that do and don't extract, and other sorts of bugs, balances and tweaks and such.
Before I go through the hassle of writing them all down, is it intentional that most non-seed plant items don't extract in a xeno lab?

Am I the only one getting extreme bugs with the new EPP system? It seems that they plain just don't work. I've reset my universe so all the planets are using the new systems, and still Heating EPP (all 3 levels) and Cooling EPP (all 3 levels) just don't do anything. Wearing Cooling EPP 3 on a planet where I wanted to mine some Pyreite and I get hit for 9dmg/second from heat. Happily the augments still work, so I can get stuff done, but it's insanely annoying (as a nitpick, the Heating EPPs all have the same description). Sadly that's not the case for poison gas planets where I find I need to wear the Gas mask or I just die. Oxygen/Breath protection does NOTHING, Poison protection does NOTHING. Again this is after I've already deleted my universe folder (except my HQ solar system).
Also, none of the EPPs having breath supply is very annoying. I don't need my Cooling EPP (as an example) to also protect against poison, radiation and cold, but i'd be SO MUCH BETTER as an experience if every EPP had breath protection.

Edit: The regen on Cellular Armor doesn't work.

it isnt. thats why its labelled TEST :)

    sayter The Waste of Time

I just tested all of this. Seems to work fine for me.
Heat Descriptions are *not* the same per pack, as each states it gives a different value to heat protection. 20/40/60%, specifically.

Note that while the basic EPP does protect against an environment, they are still percentage based. This means if you are using FR along with a pack, and your race has -20% Fire Resist, any EPP you equip against fire is 20% less effective. That means you need to compensate with armors, augments, or other such things. The reverse also applies for races if you have *bonus* resistance, though. It balances itself out as a result.

Poison Gas is blocked by poison EPP or by gas masks, gas protection etc.

Breath Protection works perfectly fine as far as I can see. EPPs don't provide it. I'm not concerned with you finding it annoying, as its been this way for a couple years now and is a better way to handle it. Especially when you factor in that there are dozens of ways to get immunity. Breath Protection can be easily obtained with a breath augment in a bind, for an exceptionally low cost.

But yea, I've tested all the EPP stuff with various characters of various races and had few issues, and fixed the ones I've found.

I'm currently wandering around naked on an ice waste with a human wearing only the heating 3 pack. I'm alive and happy.

It'd only be worth it if you set a main base on one of those planets, and I wouldn't set a main base on an astroid-vulnerable planet. The trouble I can see tbh, is that by the time you could do so you've already got so much unlocked that you have to be planning to continue playing that character/universe for a very long time. If your like me, who resets the universe every so often, such a strategy to make a main base on a planet for xithricite ore in condensers may be to impractical.

Another thing though, I wouldn't even recommend solar arrays/panels for that kind of project come to think of it. I'd actually recommend a fission or quantum reactor, as you wouldn't have quite as many power inputs to manage. A single fission currently could power 5-6 condensers easily on just plutonium, 8 at the absolute max(although I wouldn't push any power source to 100% consumption), which would cut the setup time and difficulty in half compared to say 5-6 solar arrays.

The only other situation I could think of is if you were into colony building and wanted colonists, which is questionable in FU in general due to the low incomes you get from them even on a high tier planet(in comparison, hydroponic trays/tubes can produce far more pixels worth in crops in less space). You can get high tier weapons from them occasionally and merchants can sell awesome high tier weapons on a high tier planet(especially FU specific ones that are tier 7-8), but that wouldn't take very much time.

Maybe a player moving to a new section of universe and setting up a new base on an aether sea would see such a tactic to be worth it.
