The Augment works fine on that planet... if I craft it during the current playing session. Quitting and reloading seems to revert it to a non-working version. Similarly chewing Whitespine staves off the effect for a few minutes just fine. So that doesn't really feel like a case of "it's an old planet that's completely borked up and doesn't play by the new rules". Far too inconsistent.

But hey, you seem to know what you're doing, so there's no point in me reporting any problems that are just my fault anyway. Sorry, won't bother you again.

Funny thing, that Shoggoth thing happened to me too, when I used the exact same staff, the Cultists staff. He didnt die the second or third time when I used it on him but th efirst when I used an Arm Cannon he died right off.

Whats the dot on the Cultist Staffs Special, if it has one? I do see the Shoggoth taking about 280 damage a tick form something.

not saying its your fault. Just saying that in my tests, based on your initial reports, things were working fine. You didn't mention that it was seemingly reverting to a non-working version. The bulk of similar reports have been due to the planet not being a new one. So I was making an educated guess, there.

but even there, not sure why that would be the case. It's essentially still an on/off switch for acid effects. not sure what to say, other than it seems to work okay thus far. I'll keep an eye out, but thus far I've not had similar reports. They'll come, if this is a continuing issue.

    easy enough to fix. thx

    Oh, not THAT complaint again.

Wait patiently for me to phase out microdungeons in favour of worldgen dungeons. I'll send my work to Satyr as and when it is made.

Would you just please, shut the fuck up? I have the protection gear!

Seriously, it just pops into existence every second or so. I mean, it's makes me not lose any health, so I'd consider it good enough.

Also yeah, Breathing EPP that PRODUCES breathable air, doesn't protect against poison, acid and all that good stuff. Thing, that lets you breathe under fucking water.

Also since we're talking bout dungeons. I havent seen ANYTHING custom, AT ALL. New universe, new characters. Simply nothing new. Always the same old boring shit.

Yes it is, sorry. Your dungeons are really really good work. Verdant ruins is one of my best Starbound experience ! But, for exemple, i suppose that the underground micro dungeon leading to a big complex with translocator-based enigms is one of yours. The underground on certain planets is litterally full of this microdungeon.
Same problem with the ocean floor dungeon with map ! It is a total immersion-breaker.

Sorry for that, i will wait patiently as you say, and stay in FU 5.0.46 since this problem is done. :avalicry:

You don't have the proper protective gear for Aether seas. You need Aether immunity or Cosmic resistance. Neither of which you have. The exception being if you are on an older generated world, where this will still work, but because of the way the status effect was coded, will harass you.

as for custom stuff not appearing: RNG bad luck has nothing to do with the mod. And also, you say you haven't seen anything custom at all...but are standing on a custom biome in the screenshot..... so yea. lol.

easily adjusted, really. you just lower the weight. magic. Also, how can you be sure the problem persists until you *try* it?

Damn, you're right... i haven't tested. I'm tuning treasure pool for weapons since a few days but i never imagine dungeons works the same way.

No dungeons, I meant. Different biomes, crops, sure. This water for example is amazing. And I don't know. It swaps infos like crazy. Says at night it will be worse, that air is poisonous, that cosmic dingy would be helpful etc.

That is undestandable, but I have the acid protection from augment, so why is it the most spammed warning of em all?

    Minor bug:

Warp Miner set says "+340% mining laser dmg" in tooltip, but the buff icon says "+240%" when hovering the cursor over it.

Major bug: Mining laser damage bonus still grows indefinitely until the mining laser becomes the Ruin itself, destroying everything (enemies) it touches in one hit. This is applied by both space farer mkI, II and Warp Miner.

Was the bonus damage supposed to be applied on blocks rather than enemies? Even so, thats everything I know so far

I'd think that if you had a laser capable of cutting through, say, obsidian then it should be able to cut through flesh really easily.

So I don't get why people think doing lots of damage with the mining laser is unreasonable.

That's not to say that the armors combined with the lasers aren't borked, it sounds like they very much are.

I'll have to see if the damage is insane vs enemies myself. I still usually use traditional pistols/machine pistols/assault rifles 90% of the time.
Probably for balancing concerns, similar to some of my earlier posts about power vs space ect. Honestly given that mining lasers destroy terrain, I wouldn't actually like using them as weapons even if they were sliiightly op against enemies. I hate guns which destroy terrain and refuse to use 90% of them, since it makes them terrible for defending your base/colony unless you make liberal use of a shield generator(something I admit, I should be making more use of...).

So I decided to try and use a shield generator, I was at a mini-knog laboratory I decided to start building in after I'd cleared it which originaly had a shield generator. Unfortunately the planet, a primeval, had lightning storms which can sometimes destroy wooden blocks, which I'd placed in places around the structure(playing a floran so thought, make a floran-overrun lab out of the miniknog laboratory). Well, after placing a shield generator to try and stop the lightning strikes from destroying the wooden structures, I discovered the shield generator was litterally only protecting the blocks that the world originally spawned. If I'd placed them, they were as vulnerable as before. I never felt so...annoyed to be honest, wasted all the time gathering moonstone to make the thing only to find it doesn't work on blocks placed after world spawn.

Edit: I even used my matter manipulator on some platforms I'd placed inside the structure and destroyed them no problem with the shield generator active.

    How u use SG ?I don't know how..can u tell me how?

    LaughingAlex Ketchup Robot

You can build it at the standard matter assembler. It takes moonstone(20 bars), static cells(another 20...) a few batteries(so it's tier 4 or a few thousand pixels) and I think a limited supply of titanium. Given the results I got though, it's 100% not worth it, biggest waste of moonstone I ever had :(.

It might also be the fact I was at a miniknog lab(my base is effectively the lab that had the generator in the first place this time) may have had something to do with it all I know. It was still very, very annoying, since once placed a shield generator can only be destroyed. I'd have to gather a bunch more moonstone, material to make static cells, batteries ect all over again to try another one at a different location, but until I decide to move to a new base I'm not really willing to try it again. To expensive, I have other things to do with my time :).

tnx but i didnt get what i wanted .i meant what should i do after placing it?
should let it be alone and do its job or should i interact with it cause it has two nodes what are they for?

So, the thing is, if it caused high damage, that would be one thing. Im able to hit 1.500.000. There you go.

Ahh, you need to attach a switch to it, turn the switch a few times to cycle it on/off so when it's on it activates. The thing is I didn't get any terrain protection outside of the miniknog lab when I activated mine, it was strange, the lab itself was fine but only originally placed blocks. The platforms that I placed inside it? Breakable. Wooden structures outside? Breakable. At the same time I couldn't place anything else come to think of it.

It was very strange but ultimately didn't achieve anything for me. Again it may be because I placed it inside the mini-knog lab which originally had a shield generator in the first place. Maybe the game thought it was still intact so it only applied block invulnerability and prevented placement but didn't count anything I added as part of the original structure? I don't know.

Edit: I think i'll make a second one when I get home later tonight and test it on another planet outside of a region to see if it applies to things I build properly. Or if it cannot, at the very least I could see if it protected original terrain and then just build shallow under-ground or something. Wish we had some means of heads-up before asteroids started hitting or something so a shield generator could prove useful if it did work.
