Thanks for this mod! (And the update)
    Just a question:
For some reason the matter assembler in my base turned into a Machining station, and the option to build it disappeared from the inventor table menu (the machining station is in it's place) , but the matter assembler at the science outpost is still there and works fine.
is it intended? or i somehow glitched something.

you say thanks for the update, but then dont read any update notes. All of this is explained in the giant update note a couple days ago. go read it. A lot was changed, and you'll want to give it a look.

The quests and tutorials say i can link a power source to a machine like the tier 1 extrator (if i remenber is the handmill) but seems like the source of energy is wrong, because i need a blue circle to receive energy and only apear a red circle...

    sayter The Waste of Time

Handmill is part of the extractor family. But it is NOT an extractor. That said, extractors currently only require power at Quantum tier. That will change soon. This was a preperatory change in the text for when that happened.

So the wire port on them is for the item network?

yes. im not certain if they function for it yet, but it should function for other inventory management mods liked Wired Industry. I think. I haven't personally used that feature since I lack the mods they utilize. Other members of the team added that stuff :)

The last big update is so perfect, the mod is not a " end game content " anymore it is for early mid and end game, and that is AMAZING!

You actually have to upgrade the Machining Table into the Matter Assembler now. The Machining Table is the first tier out of 3. Some of the modules that don't need to be upgraded like the Power Station have remained unchanged, but if you find a new module in the place of something you already had down, it likely just means it has been "degraded" to it's 1st tier version.

I asked a similar question above and the answer I got was "It's a work in progress".

If you check out the Steambound mod that this inventory management system was based on, you can see the UI is very similar, but it's missing critical information. Sometimes the items sort into a container already containing similar items, sometimes it seems entirely random. I would say it is simply "incomplete" as is. Hopefully soon we get a fix.

if you read back, i was the one who posted the image of steambound's router diagram thing here (page 350 or so, iirc?), so yup. i see that :D. still just tryina get this thing working to see how it works and if i like the way it works (vs. say, smart tubes (which i tried just prior to the latest FU release that included the item transfer networks. they do pretty much exactly what i want, but they haven't done any performance optimization yet, so even (in my case) 4 networks with 15 hydroponics trays and 1 container each will bog the game down till it craaawls). or steambound itself (though, honestly, the last thing i want is thick, ugly rusted pipes in my shiny bases). or startech (which is still in alpha, so i'm not sure i want to rely on it). or the trusty old hyper-storage and item transmitter mod, which has been around for forever, but doesn't have the finesse to do exactly what i want (transmitter nodes check containers nearby reciever nodes, and if one of those containers has anything that is also in the container on the reciever, everything in the transmitter goes to the reciever container. i want to put water specifically into the second slot on a hydro tray. i want to put fertilizer specifically into the third slot on a hydro tray. and i want the hydro tray to send crop returns and excess seeds back to the same container that the water and fertilizer came out of. and i want to do this with batches of hydro trays, and i want to have the water and fertilizer shared out, not all go to the same tray, and leave the rest non-functional).). I'd love for FU item management to work, and to be able to do what i want, though...that way i don't have to worry about keeping another mod updated and whatnot. so i'm kinda holding my breath atm, hoping it gets some more work to make it intuitive and functional.

I may be missing something but the recent updated files seem a bit odd. Usually there's a pak file when you update, now there's a rar with the mod files inside of it. Am I to remove the old FrackinUniverse.pak and folder and just use the folder in the .rar you're uploading? I'm confused because I've never seen you upload this format, it's always been a .pak file.

    It still says:

To install: Place the .pak file in the base Starbound/giraffe_storage/mods/ directory

In your install guide. There is no .pak in the recent updates.

It was less of a bug report and more of a question. Since the zip was by itself but the tar format worked, I figured it was a more universal thing for zip, I didn't think of it was a personal problem. I do have the log file, if you think that might help in the long run. I am not a coder or programmer of any sort, so I failed to understand why one of the two different formats of the same thing wouldn't work if the other does, but I have other things that work in that format. I was more so asking why that might be.

A mod can exist either as a .pak file or as a folder of several loose files; the game recognizes both. A .pak is just the files packed together into one package for easier, smoother use. (In fact, the programs to pack and unpack a folder to a .pak and vice versa are included in the game, though you shouldn't have any need to use those.) Given that FU is currently seeing a lot of changes and corrections right now, there's just no point for Sayter to pack it up and up load a .pak if he'll just have to do the same thing an hour later.

All you have to do is to download the zip file from github, then extract the folder "FrackinUniverse-master" and place that folder in your mod directory, exactly where the .pak would have been put. (And, as mentioned, remove the previous version of FU, whether a folder or a .pak, so you don't have dulicates.) Then everything will work just fine.

Okay I see, well thank you very much for the explanation and help, now I feel silly but that is nothing new. I'm not used to having to go into files and mess with things, but I will most certainly look out for that in the future.

Ummm... I picked up a tungsten bar and learned to craft a PGI.
I can't see any error except this:
[16:28:23.904] [Error] Could not instantiate item '[fuvendingmachine, 1, {}]'. (ItemException) No such item 'fuvendingmachine'
