    One thing I would like to mention.... furniture options early-game simply blows.

    When I was making that little wooden cabin farmhouse, I was kinda disappointed that the vanilla game only allows us to create simple wooden chairs and tables at first, until you unlock not only the scanner tool but also the pixel printer before you get access to more reasonable looking furniture.

    Now, there is Bone and that Floran Leaf set, but those wouldn't look right in a farmhouse kinda setup, to be honest.

    I think early-game furniture is... very lacking.

    Not sure what we could do about it, though.

    Question: What unlocks the power station now? I've upgraded the Assembler, Biolab and Nanofab completely, but I can't build a Power Station. With the Alternator still bugging out, my base is powerless. I guess I could use the one at the Outpost, but that feels like cheating.

    Themed furniture merchants come to mind, carrying all cosmetic furniture {i.e. no crafting stations} of a particular tag, at a premium price.

    Not sure how that would work, though - I suppose it could be set manually for each merchant's "tag inventory", but that seems like it might get very maintenance-intensive very quickly. I have no idea if there's a way to check all game assets for items matching a certain tag and adding it to a merchant's selection.

    edit: okay, added the unlock to Electromagnet for now (just for you guys), since i dont know it Initial Unlocks work multiple times for a given station. It will now auto-appear with a Matter Assembler otherwise.

    That solved it, thanks. As soon as I opened the Matter Assembler, I got the message that I'd learned to make the power station. Didn't actually have to make the magnet. Not quite the expected result, but it works, yeah?

    How about... making other furniture craftable instead? You could have a separate crafting station (say, "Furniture Workshop") for making it, and the recipes unlock when you scan the items. (I don't know how, but I suppose you could just steal the code from how the Pixel Printer works.) So once you've scanned, say, a Primitive Bed, you can make one out of bone and leather. Also, race-specific furniture could be unlocked from the start for that race (i.e. a Floran PC could make that Primitive Bed right from the start since they know how they're made, while an Avian could make a Moon Emblem without having to actually go look at one again). That way, you could build your home/furnish your ship in a racially appropriate way, instead of using generic junk.

    The only downside is that someone would have to come up with literally hundreds of recipes for everything. Still, maybe it could be done as a group project?

    furniture is not, and never will be, one of my primary focuses. I add some here and there to fill time or gaps.

    'S cool, I was just brainstorming a bit.

    On another note, I noticed a bunch of new stuff in the MA, such as devices from Steambound. Are you integrating those in FU, or is this some other coding snafu? Also a Repeater and a Storage Bridge, which I've never seen before. What are they for?

    Considering Sayter has been tweaking the stuff to fit in FU's early-mid tier tech I'd assume it's an integration. My question is did someone else try updating TP_'s mod? Who is Kherae?

    Found the Steambound thread on Steam(ayy). Seems everyone thinks it to be abandoned.

    same object skins for now. those are coming soon. the quarries will be tiered very soon, and so forth. released them in their current state just to get them out there. Storage Bridge syncs up your containers basically. its a container link. place near containers. then wire to the router. then router to station. you can adjust settings in the router.

    What unlocks the gas centrifuge now? I have the lab centrifuge, as well as the industrial centrifuge. Ordinarily I'd just keep building and searching, but since we're all essentially bugtesting right now... do I have to pick up some rare substance?

    is there any chance for a rudimentary tutorial on the item transfer system? like, terminal blue to router red, then router blue to item bridge reds? or is it a router per 5 items one way? like, origin container bridge red to destination container bridges blue, and terminal...where? into router red (since it only has blue wire)? or into any bridge's red? how to configure input/output slots on the router? can i specify slots the items go into (ex: hydroponics tray, water into slot 2, fertilizer into slot 3)? can i tell the system to leave a certain number of an item in a container (ex: hydroponics trays, i want to leave at least one seed in slot one at all times, but the rest can go back to the storage container)?

    Seconded. The router interface is confusing. Even a short outside-of-game tutorial on how to set up the most commonly-used network transfers would help a ton. Setups like automated tray feeding/emptying, moving honeycombs to the centrifuge, and the classical autosorter (i.e. shove your latest bunch of stuff into a crate, have it sent to specific containers based on categories).
