More animated bits and automation mechanics is always a good thing, in my opinion :)

I like the power parts of FU the most, honestly.

It's posted here, but the download button links to Steam. They uploaded it to Media Fire a while ago, but it's badly out of date. Several people (including me) have asked them to update it, but so far no response. Not sure what to think really.

Also Sayter, you may want to talk to the person who made pipes plus. It has basically the same irrigator as the old irrigation mod, but I think its already updated to 1.1.1 (I have it in my current mod load, but I haven't built it in game yet). It also has an item pipe system similar to Steambound, but it looks to be a bit less complex, and would probably be far easier to integrate into FU. Also, the pipes plus author mentioned he might be merging his stuff into Steambound, but I've seen no mention of that in Steambound's page. Given that, I'd say there's a good chance you could convince him to merge it in with FU instead :)

The whole talk of tubes makes me think of dwarfs best friend, and power generation all of a sudden. Lava transporting tubes attachable to a combustion generator for power. For more advanced, maybe a thermal generator which runs when within very close proximity to lava, and only lava, with a main advantage of generating more power, freely, than solar, but not quite as much as fission/quantum. The generator would slowly deplete a lava source, but this could be remedied by settling near a planet core, or on a magma ect.

I dunno, it may be over-specialized to get any practical use. Then again, so is the quantum or solar tower.

Totally behind the idea behind hydroponic tubes acting as liquid transportation tubes though. It makes me wonder about tubes which could have differing functions when transporting differing liquids.

    So..some ideas and unlocking path.

Generic Piping: Eh, obvious...moves any liquid efficiently but suffers a 75% speed penalty transporting upwards. Does not benefit from pumping regulator.

    6u/4000u battery unlocks:
Pumping Regulator: Allows powered piping to work within a distance. Requires 6u. Pre-requisite for following tubes/pipes:
Filtration tube: Transforms non-lava liquids into water. Does not require Pump Regulators, but works slowly without. Requires gravel/sand.
Pump-Powered Piping: Requires Pumping Regulator nearby to work, moves cold-liquids(not lava/liquid iron) with maximum speeds and cost-effectiveness. No other pipe transports liquid faster.
    Zerchisium Alloy Tubes: Transports lava(surprise!).
Lava Conversion Tube: Transforms lava into liquid Iron.

    Combustion Generator Unlocks:
Hydroelectric Generator: Small, produces 8u power, requires active hydroelectric tubes behind it to work. High Titanium/Durasteel/Gold cost.
Hydroelectric Tubes: Allows Hydroelectric Generators to work when placed in background behind Hydroelectric Generator. Can only move water downwards(use with Battery tubing, pumping regulator, filtration tubes to maximize effectiveness). Can pass through multiple hydroelectric generators.
Battery tubing: Transports poison/sulpheric acid only, charges batteries within close proximity for 2u; can be placed in background and still work. This cannot replace solar/generator power, but can assist in powering a pumping regulator. Does not require Pumping regulator; it powers itself AND controls itself, but cannot transport anything but poison/sulpheric acid. This is also an expensive tube to build, and unlocks the next tubes:

Oil Refinement tube: Transforms black tar into oil, for those who settled on planets with tar-rain.
Protocyte Piping: Turns regular water into liquid protocyte. Requires battery tubing as an ingredient(to balance it).

Ventilation Tubes: For use combined with atmospheric regulators: extends distance of artificial environment.

    Unlocked with Atmospheric Regulator.
Liquid Replicator system: Required for the tube below, requires 30 power to function(yes, that much). This may not need to be made....
Liquid transformation tube: Transforms any non-lava liquid into another liquid based on it's color at ultra high speeds. Not sure this is within reason though, as it's somewhat complex. Cannot work without a Liquid Replicator System active nearby.

Of course some may be redundant gameplay wise and whatnot. Any tube that transforms a liquid into another, also transforms that other liquid efficiently.

Er, so, I was wandering a shadow world with a junk tech minibiome (whatever it's called), only to stumble across...an ocean dungeon? It's the Hylotl underwater ruins dungeon. I'm guessing this is due to FU and not to the vanilla game....

Shadow Worlds are labelled as "potentially lethal" which means random biome combinations which means your beam-down spot could be lethal (like beaming into lava). So I assume they're supposed to be random?

Ah, that must explain it. I guess I'd rather the underwater biomes be exempted; it's a bit silly to have an ocean heaped up like a hill next to the dry land! But that makes sense.

Technically, they never would be produced at the same time; but the difference in the code is that now, one of the two is selected randomly each time a bee could be spawned; whereas before, both would be tried (though one would be a guaranteed fail if the other had just succeeded).

Thing is that if, in the old code, you look at the spawner function calls and not at the functions themselves, it does look like both could succeed (and there's still an element of that regarding where the bee is spawned).

I always used the metal tubes you gotta till and plant, not the powered auto-grow ones lol.

    1). You get plant fiber.
2). It is more pleasing aesthetically to have rows of plants (IMO).
3). Picking and planting more is a great way to spend a few minutes to give nearby bees time to work.
