I usually did it the opposite way, with the nano assembler on top of the fission furnace. Not sure if that's still possible, I haven't updated FU for a bit, but it might be worth a shot if you're still saving space. (Had to do an emergency offline run of Starbound to actually take down the stations just now before I was forced to update. :p )

I used to build my labs deep underground, and often ended up kicking myself because I'd finish off the room all fancy-like before realizing I had a few more machines that needed to be fit inside.

I'd recommend building lab spaces a lot larger than you'd normally build them, and possibly away from other structures so that you have room to expand. I once had a colony and lab setup so big, I actually set up multiple teleports/bookmarks to get around quicker. :p

first world problems. FU has never been about using as little space as possible, and never will be. Build a bigger lab. :)

as for the nano, i'll fix that up. I removed its collision setup by mistake

    .......why?

Why do you want to go back to 1.0 just because a few modders need a bit of time to update their mods?

FU is already updated, and even if there was a bug, it'd probably get squashed fast.

Other modders will get their stuff updated if you give them a little time.

Other than race mods, many mods can be safely (temporarily) uninstalled while you wait.

But going back to 1.0 and then asking @sayter to keep supporting 1.0 after 1.1's release is just ridiculous, esp when you gotta take extra steps just to GET a 1.0 version of SB (if you use Steam), since Steam by default demands downloading a newer version of a game (it will say "Update Required" and will in no wise allow you to play said game).

What you're asking just isn't feasible. It's like driving your 2016 car to the auto mechanic complaining about a bad fuel injector, and asking him to install a carburetor instead.

That's not what he wants though, he wants a version of FU 4.12 that is compatible with SB 1.0. Basically he wants all the latest changes in FU, 'cept those that cause SB 1.0 to error out.

^ this. It's a silly request and one I'll be ignoring forever. Anyone wanting me to support an old version of the game can go away. Exception: irrevocably broken updates for the main game. Which SB really hasn't ever had.

(needs testing) _ all FU creatures now have names and descriptions in their files. This *should* hopefully make them pop up on the new system added. I havent looked into it much yet though, so don't quote me on the creature-log thing yet :)

I created a new character with ONLY FU mod installed. I was not been able to teleport down to the planet (when you beam down you go back to ship). I also noticed that this latest version of FU is smaller than the version before. Is something missing?
Version tested is 4.13, updated today.

    More details needed.

Are you talking about the "Ship stays in FTL travel forever"?

Try going to the science outpost and then back to your ship. If that doesn't work, exit the game and restart. Just keep trying these until it eventually dumps you on a planet.

It's just the game taking forever to find a suitable starting world (the game demands a Lush, Moon, Forest, and Desert on a Gentle Star, which a lot of times doesn't happen). It can take awhile for the game to sift through all the gentle stars in the universe looking for a suitable world to start you on.

@sayter : as fun as having oddities in Gentle Stars is, I wonder if we should leave Gentle Stars alone and make our own "psuedo-gentle star" to make this a little better? Maybe call it a "White Star"?

I reverted back to the version before, and worked normally. Sadly there is no error that I could report.
I created a new character again (did it 10x to be sure). None of these have had any problems with the older version.
Then I download the latest version (again), and the same issue present itself. This time I went to the science outpost before trying to beam down (after ship stop over a planet), and again, I was transported back to ship.
I repeated the same procedure 5 times, and got the same result (Every time I created a new character skipping the intro mission", human specie). Then, in my attempt 6 I could see the planet, walked to the right side and in 4 seconds I was back in the ship.
One last time I reverted to the version before, and worked just fine.

and why are you not posting an error log as per the *very first thing typed on the mods description page* so that I can actually diagnose the problem and fix it? No, you do not need to experience an error, per se. If you are doing anything in starbound, it has generated a starbound.log file. Follow the printed directions please. Don't cut and paste from the log. I need the entire thing. When you warp to a planet it will log what is going on, and that will include warping you back to your ship.

Honestly. At this point it gets really tiresome having to say that again and again when it is in bold red text in plain sight for every user to see.

I'm wondering if he has updated starbound to 1.1. If not, he can't use FU. No exceptions.

Something seems to be wrong with Grain Water. Picking it up will make your inventory cycle between Items and Food very very quickly. Also, the scientist crew member is constantly cycling between his sword and gun weapon if he is not following me.

Here is a pastebin of my log if that is suppose to help. http://pastebin.com/xHwzwERG

I'm seeing two bugs. First, apparently you still have a Felin character in your player data folder, but lack the Felin mod. This isn't too much of a problem, as the character just won't appear.

The second bug, which is preventing you from beaming down... well, you seem to be missing "/monsters/bugs/bug.lua". Which I believe is a symptom of not actually having Starbound itself updated to 1.1.

correct. And there is your problem in a nutshell. Update the product :)

    from the log itself:

    'Starbound 1.0.5.lnk',

    needs to be 1.1

It's just an issue of waiting for me. Once all my mods are confirmed to work for 1.1, I'll update. With games like these (Terraria, Skyrim, etc, mod heavy games) it is always wise to have backups of the game and disable all automatic updates. Sure I'll miss some FU updates for the time being but that isn't going to kill me or my fun.

Hello, the lasher hook item is crashing the game whenever held on hand, here's the error:

"Exception caught in client main-loop (assetException) error loading asset /items/active/grapplinghooks/grapplinghookanimation.lua"

I may be wrong but it doesn't seem to be anything on your end but rather on the game's end, since your files look consistent with the previous versions of the mod for that item with the exception of the upgrade add and the change from legendary to uncommon rarity. So could just need to change a reference if they changed the animation's address or something.

thats fixed on github and steam already, just not here. Uploading the pak is a pain in the ass so I update here less frequently. I am considering saying screw the stupid pak version, but people seem to like having it as an option.

Found a graphical bug; FU adds a whole bunch of swoosh sprites to the flip slash alt ability, including overwriting the existing physical swoosh sprite. Due to the fact that the new swoosh sprites don't fit the ability, the violium broadsword's flip slash now looks really silly.

    - Fixed graphic for Iron “blades” and renamed to Iron Fists

    • Adjusted damage on several bone weapons to be higher, on par with Iron

    • Hunger bar size increased to match the other bars

    • Siren armor recipe adjusted to be more difficult to produce

    • Fixed a typo preventing cryonicextract from unlocking recipes

    • Most bee types produce Bee Silk in the apiaries now, with varying chances. You really can’t get this stuff anywhere else but from bees. This means bees now serve a direct purpose in progression (one, anyhow)

    • Added Golden Fleece as a resource. It requires Mutavisk and Bee Silk
