RELEASED FrackinUniverse 6.4.3

Enhance your starbound experience in every area. Massive mod.

So... the huge "can" robots on Metal Moons seem just a wee bit overpowered (the big ones with the arm cannons that like to dash punch you and launch missile salvos and they only have 1 eye in the center)

Wearing Mutavisk Armor on a Dangerous (V) planet, one of them hit me with a melee attack that did 105 damage.

    I only have 123.

While Mutavisk Armor isn't the best armor around, it's just a slice under Vanilla Titanium (which is what you'd be wearing when you first arrive at a T5 planet). Other enemies normally hit for 30-40 damage on the same planet, for reference.

With their ridiculous power at range, and their dash punches if you're in mid-range, there's really no way to fight or avoid these things without getting killed in 1-2 hits flat.

EDIT: Also the "Skeleton Robots" (the tall ones that growl and are humanoid) drops a PGI.

Several of the big robotic enemies that appear on metallic moons drop PGI. I suspect it may be supposed to be the spacesuit chest blueprints, because I killed a ton of them and got several copies of the helmet and legs blueprints, and a couple of PGI, but no chest.

So, after installing this mod I found a Challenge Door, but the challenge inside was completely broken. There were these blue smoke-looking jets that, according to N-scanning, were supposed to give a jump boost, but did nothing. There were also crystals firing blue lasers, but those just passed harmlessly past me.

Also, I found the secret chest, but it only had a few pixels in it. Not sure if that was intended.

  8. Xylia

    Xylia Tiy's Beard

I don't think this mod broke it, because I know for a fact those jump traps work, as do the blue lasers.

    ---------------------

Also, I've tested the Wire Relay.... it doesn't work whatsoever, no matter how I wire it. It will light up and stuff.... but it does absolutely nothing as far as powered machines go. I tried both batteries and actual machines on the receiving end and neither work, and the power sensors show 0.

Had the same problem a few pages back, might have been overlooked. Only thing I managed was getting the relay to light up, yet no power ever reached the machines.

I have something that's been bugging me lately, and I know it's technically a minor detail, but why does FU's many, MANY crops sell for 0 pixels? :S Thanks to playing on casual and the new rot mechanic I'm not making it a habit of holding onto produce for long, so that's a lot of selling when growing things to get seeds for gene research... And, well, not much of a profit once for my time past the Vanilla plants.

EDIT: something a bit more important than my innane questions, but I'm seeing some invisible growth frames for Neuropods for some reason.

They sell for 0 pixels because it takes a lot of time and work to try to balance the sell prices reasonably vs how fast they grow. FU's crops I don't think were meant to be money-makers anyways; they grow fast and are meant to be buff foods (though the well-fed debuff kinda makes it difficult to use some of these foods as buff medicine).

I found, on "Dangerous" (Tier V) the near-invisible creatures on a penumbra planet can inflict very brutal levels of damage, about 60 with a spartan helmet, spacefarer chest and greaves(58 armor). They could effectively 2-shot my floran(I was playing frackin races) who had 125 health. I understand I was on a dangerous planet but, those enemies are practically invisible and blend in far to well 90% of the time. There is no warning until it's to late, creating for a 10 out of 10 demonic spider(aka, "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE DIE IF THEY EVEN SPOT YOU! type of enemy"). It's bad enough they are near-invisible and very fast, I'd suggest a damage adjustment. Because, well....

They are fast as hell, and limited lighting means they can easily ambush a player effortlessly.
They only need to hit you a couple times.
They are near invisible. Combined with the first one, makes it nearly impossible to detect them in time, with no where near enough time for a player to really react to them.

As bad as invisible drillers in descent....

    Take three. Behave, forums...

So, it seems like there's something weird going on. On my starter system, there's a Rainforest planet. Halfway into the planet there's no biome, no background wall, no nothing. A good three or four seconds of falling on /admin -- leading to a series of "strata" (thin layers separated by massive 4-5 second drops with no background). All of the biomes past a certain point are the same -- prenumbra. Found a bit of Denisium, triangulum, etc. This is in my starting system on a Mostly Harmless planet.

Nothing seems to be in the log suggesting an error, but it's plain that there are missing biomes here. Too bad Sayter is on vacation...

Major problem: On planets which randomly spawn mooshi's and chickens will eventually spawn so many that they inevitably begin to lag the game. This is not a problem for occasional visits, but renders the planet unusable for any kind of base/colony; it eventually begins to become unplayable. Especially since the animals seem to be invincible.

I reported this bug many pages ago, it happened to me on an Eden, and..... wow, same thing -- corrupt dirt biome, same thing that happened.

Here's a screenshot of mine (for review):

As you can see, this was a thing back in Glad Giraffe.

But, I think what Sayter said, is that all the biome files look right, it's just that planet gen will sometimes derp, and derp hard and there's not much that we can really do about it.

The particular planet I had, only had one of these "holes" and it was a size 16k Eden. And as you can see, the upper part of it was a corrupt dirt biome just like in your case. So maybe there's something weird about the corrupt dirt biome that can sometimes cause this?

    I don't know.

Anyways, IIRC, it took me like 300 dirt to make that ladder up from the bottom of this void.

EDIT: Dude, what's up with your starbound.config that it's trying to write to it every few seconds? lol

Not a damn clue. I noticed that as well. Heh. Deniseium, and I haven't even made T2 armor yet.

Ok, so this world's just s derp. Built my base on it, will probably end up moving. I don't like derpworlds.

I am noticing regularly that there is a huge drop in a chasm about 3-5 screens deep on a constant basis on 90% of the planets I explore. I'm beginning to personally think it's far to common in fact. I actually died twice by accidental dash on a tar just now(thanks to random number god not having any oil anywhere else today). It feels like every other planet has it. It's not quite, at least from what I can tell, as bad as the above screenshots at least. Still annoying having to build a few hundred platforms to even get to the bottom of an initial cavern.
