To power EVERYTHING except for the Atmospheric Regulator:

    1x Solar Array: Ansible Network
1x Solar Array + 1x Solar Panel: Atmospheric Condenser.
    2x 2000u 4v Battery Units: Powder Sifter + Lab/Advanced Centrifuge
    1x 2500u 5v Battery Unit: Quantum Extractor
    2x 4000u 6v Battery Units: Arc Smelter

That's all you need to power ALL of the powered stations (except the Regulator). If you don't have the Arc Smelter, one of the 4000u 6vs would do the Blast Furnace until you get it.

This is a total of 5 batteries and 3 panels (2 big 1 small).

Hello Sayter! Would it be acceptable if I were to suggest a new planet type? What would you say to a rare "Civilized" planet using Earth's parallax, with no creature spawns or ores but many friendly villages?

I'm having trouble with getting the apiary to work. I have a honey bee drone, honey bee queen, and a basic frame in the apiary, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything or indicating that it's activated.

  5. Xylia

That would be laggy as BEEEEEEEP.

Not sure how well that would work.

If an Apiary is working, you will see bees flying around it and you will hear buzzing.

    Is it daytime?
Do you have at least one flower growing nearby?

EDIT: Also I noticed that Apiaries are very wonky if you try to use it aboard your ship. Apparently there are day-night cycles on the ship now, but I can't for the life of me figure out how you tell what time of day it is, or if it uses the planet below or what to figure that out, but it's very hit-or-miss. I recommend NOT using your ship for Apiaries now, because of this.

Hi Sayter! I just posted on /r/starbound regarding a pretty severe framerate drop due to the fog effect. It seems like the effect's lifetime might be too high, causing it to layer up over time. Also, fog appears on surfaces underwater. I have no idea if you already knew this, but my searches didn't come up with anything.

I hope you can fix this! Absolutely love your mods!

(Radeon HD 7900, if it makes any difference)

Possible bug-report. Not sure the celerity armor's speedboost is working. Tested it and my character moved exactly as fast in it as in densinium armor. This was kind of a rough test though, I didn't use a stopwatch or anything. If it's supposed to be a very small increase, I might not have been able to tell.

Would Better Barren Worlds mod be compatible with this one? It adds a variant planet type.

What is the Hardest Planet/Biome? I read the biome page but wasnt sure on what was the hardest. Also is this mod compatible with Avali Race mod? Because I am not finding any of there settlesments been playing for a good week now and been to many many planets and havent even seen one hint of a settlement/Dungeon.

This has been discussed before; it's a vanilla Starbound problem as that fog effect is a vanilla Starbound weather pattern. Fixing it would be best done by creating a simple, separate, non-FU patch.

If you want to write it yourself, unpack the vanilla Starbound assets and look for "fogprimer.projectile".

Depends. If the Better Barren Worlds is properly written and properly patches in correctly, it should work... but the planet type would be very rare, seeing as it would probably only appear around vanilla stars and would have to compete with FU planets.

FU has a better barren planet type sort of built in, anyways. Tabula Rasa planets are basically Barren planets with a Lush-type biome. Mostly flat, no monsters on the surface, no surface caves, etc.

If you're looking for an actual challenge, try Infernus worlds. Those are very hostile. Also Metallic Moons. Molten iron rain, superheated ground from said rain, etc.

If you're looking for a hard planet type numbers-wise, try the vanilla Moons. They have a hidden difficulty of 10, so any tenants in colonies on those moons will pay a LOT, for example.

As for Avali settlements, they'll be hard to find as they only appear on certain vanilla planet types. There's no magic thing that automatically adds them to FU planets/dungeon lists. You'd need an Avali FU patch for that.

Arid Queens/Drones in an Apiary. Take the honeycombs they produce and dump em in a Bees! Centrifuge (NOT FU's Lab/Advanced Centrifuges).

    Cheers,

man I love this mod, well done, really.

I was wondering, even though I am currently trying to figure this out my self, it would be a good idea to make all weapons deteriorate over time, similar to axes. This way, one would have to decide when to use them.... If you want to simulate Ammo, one can do this only for projectile weapons

This could be combined with repair options, later down the path...

    Interested ?

Question I've wondered for a few updates now since I started playing again. Were all the block effects from FU removed? Honey blocks no longer slow, black slime no longer hurts, majority of radioactive stone doesn't irradiate, web doesn't reduce speed or jump, etc.

the effects are still in, Lindazana. IF they arent, you broke something or...something along those lines. Conflict, or ?. They work fine.

Coming in a bit on Github:

I had to re-base it locally because I deleted the damned .git directory.....aaaarrrrg...otherwise it would be live right now.

Replacement battery graphics from the wonderful Darkpursuer. These suckers look a LOT better :) I've also made them fullbright power meters so you can see them in the dark, as well as fullbright on many other powered-station bits. I'll add more as we reskin those stations.

also, mites will again start appearing in bee apiaries...so be prepared for that.

I would have to say that Bees are rather underpowered as it is, so I'm not really understanding these nerfs?

From what I can tell, 90% of the reason to do Bees! content is for some aesthetics, and for the Miner Bees.

However, the Miner Bees, at best, can give you Diamonds or Durasteel, both of which are not all that difficult to find on your own. It can take entire game days to get just a few Ores/Diamonds from an apiary full of miner bees. You could, I suppose, eventually build up something like 50 apiaries and be churning out metals all over the place, but the amount of work makes it not really worth it, because by the time you finally get up that far, you don't even need the ores anyways.

And add to the fact that Miner Bees require Fiery Bees (I forget exactly what they're called, they're the ones you get from Vanilla Hot Planets) which means if you're able to catch THOSE, then you're already well past Durasteel and you probably don't need that many diamonds (and even if you did, you could always go spelunking in FU planets, you'll find them easy enough).

So, Bees! already was kinda "meh". At first I thought the ability to set up apiaries and get ores was awesome, but then after I examined the sheer ridiculous amount of pure hard work and long hours it takes before you get up to that kind of production, it's a "too much work for too little reward" situation.

But now we're nerfing it MORE! Now you NEED to swap out a piece or two of your armor every time you go near apiaries (unless you do it on your ship, but that's a bit buggy now, not sure what changed).... but now we're getting mites again which only adds tedium and makes the whole thing less rewarding.

    So....

Suggestions on how to improve it...

1). Make miner bees easier to get.
2). Add more oretypes to miner bees (more frames, that is).
3). Make it slightly more likely to get ore out of the honeycombs (because 40% (IIRC?) chance is kinda ridiculous).

Just a few suggestions that would make Bees! more .... well.... productive.

It's fun and all, but when it yields such little reward, it just doesn't seem like a very good use of one's time.

EDIT: BTW... Edens supposedly have "lots of sunlight" ... it looks like when you increase the day length, night length also increases, lol. So you either get long days and then long, long wait periods inbetween or you get short days.. either way, I find that it is nighttime far too often when I wanna get stuff from apiaries...

...Crap. I'm assuming a conflict would be something in the tiles folders for mods? Or would the block effects be situated somewhere else?

Quick question - I heard through the grapevine that Frackin' Races is being separated from the base mod? Is this true? If so, I'd like to use the standalone even though I don't use Frackin' Universe, because I miss Racial Gameplay Variation.
