Hey, is there a list of what other mods have been incorporated into Frackin Universe?

I want to make sure I haven't doubled up on some of the mods I'm running alongside Frackin Universe.

 

From what I could gather: Science mod, Bees! and Starbooze.

If you choose to install FrackinRaces as well, you cannot run Race Gameplay Variation (and possibly other mods that add or alter racial abilities).

 

Good to see how much this has improved over time But, again, I'm utterly stuck when it comes to getting corruption. My starmap shows it's only present on fungal worlds. But is it supposed to be on the surface, deep underground, or anywhere in the middle, for the life of me I cannot find any :[ I guess I will try something else for a while.

 

I found some randomly on a desert planet... but yeah it seems a bit rare to actually find some. But at least it glows very faintly kinda like densinium does, so if you see some purple glow on the surface, it's probably corruption if the planet is listed as having any.

IMO, there should be a somewhat costly recipe to make corrupted bio-mass from Dark Water.

All of these liquids and very few actually have uses.... such a shame.

If you install Frackin' Universe, you cannot run Race Gameplay Variation at all. One reason is because it needs an update, but another reason is because Frackin' Races only activates the racial abilities - for some reason, Sayter decided to have Frackin' Universe handle the scripts for racial abilities, rather than making them separate as they should be.

 

I know this is probably a stupid question but what is the difference between Universe and the universe_RC repositories?

 

_RC is Glad Giraffe and is wholly obsolete (it hasn't been updated since late June, nor will it ever be because there's no way to go back to previous versions).

 

Have you given any thought to making more special fluffalos that drop other in game resources?

 

Q: Does Frackin' Universe change the physics of vanilla blocks, like Mud, Snow, and Silt? I ask because there -has to be- a mod that I'm using which changes these, causing a conflict with Sure Footed. For reference:

 

Yes, Frackin' Universe has many block changes. And liquid interactions with blocks, too.

 

Played through the Vanilla game and then found out about this mod. Must say, I have absolutely loved it. Really fleshed out the entire experience and can't imagine playing without it now.

One small thing that bugged me while playing through was the Hyperion Particle Cannon. This gun seemed extremely strong. I was able to kill Shoggoth in 3 hits with full Shoggoth armor and no additional modifiers. He only got off one attack before death. My initial playthough of that dungeon was with the Imperius Minigun which seemed far more balanced, very powerful, but at least it felt like he had a fighting chance. Additionally, I have yet to find a non-boss enemy that isn't one shot by it. Even the mini boss guys on unreal planets still get one shot by it.

Are there going to be more dungeons like the Frozen Wastes? That area was fantastic, doubly so since I can't get enough Eldritch themed content.

thanks will be adding more as i go. But focusing on Quality of Life and general tightening of gameplay right now rather than more features. We have plenty.

Also focusing on some stuff for Frackin Races, too.


That said, i'll have to check out the hyperion again. I think its triple-spread is just giving it way too much punch

I haven't changed them.

edit: ah i see, apparently i missed raptor1 when I did the capture addition. The rest can still be caught. His catch will be added in the next update here, or right now on github or tomorrow on steam

 

Oh boy do you. It's easily added another 100 hours to my play time.

Regardless of what you do from here on out, I just wanted to voice how much I appreciate the work you do.

 

How do I choose one of the new races in the character creator?
I installed FU and FR, started a new game but only have access to the vanilla races (each with their characteristics added by the FR mod) but I can't seem to find the new species added.

 

you need to have a mod that adds in the slots

 

Any specific one you'd recommend?

 

The new species aren't added by FU, they're third-party mods that FU supports. You'd have to install, for example, The Pony Modpack to be able to play as the Ponex race with their immunity to bees.
