    Efrim Pangalactic Porcupine

Interested to hear how Sayter would feel about making this happen by default. Alternately; if it could be made to require only one hand I'd be fine with it remaining on the toolbar. Then I could dual it with a hook or 1-handed weapon.

  3. Xylia

    Xylia Tiy's Beard

It can't be one hand anymore than the MM can for the same reason -- you cannot place or mine out background blocks without right-clicking.

My brain is sleepy; I'm embarrassed I didn't think of that. Still; any reason it can't just replace the default M.M. to free up the toolbar spot?

I was thinking it had to be 2 handed because you can't hold all that power in one hand, lol.

Hey everyone - I just did the vanilla Starbound update today, and that fixed the problem. Thanks for your help!

Tried searching the thread, but I didn't find any information on this. After completely circumnavigating 9 Tidal planets due to the fact I cannot find a ocean planet for the life of me. I have yet to come across a hylotl city, I've come across houses and a few lone Hylotl, but no cities. Has anyone else run into this issue?

I don't know about Tidal planets, but Ocean Planets DO exist, though they may be harder to find. Ocean Planets are found near Temperate Stars, and they usually have Hylotl structures on them. Also, said Hylotl structures are usually underwater, with the occasional small house on the surface (not enough to complete the scans though).

You can also run into haunted Hylotl Monasteries in other biomes, too if you're trying to do the Hylotl Scan Quest. One Large Haunted Monastery should have enough greenscans in it to complete the quest outright, or at least they did back during Unstable, Pre-1.0.

I don't think I ever found a hylotl city on any ocean planet. Just keep searching everything, you'll find one. Shadow planets seem to have a high chance at the monastery.

Hi, have an issue with some item descriptions (armours in particular) are too long for the box and will get jumbled with the text below the box. Is there something I'm missing to fix this? Using the steam version.

    sayter The Waste of Time

nope. The UI just needs more updates. I have other priorities for the time being, though. I'll get to it when I can.

Sweet as, is there anywhere we're able to see the item descriptions out of game until it's fixed?

Other than squinting or doing a search on GitHub, not really.

Hey Sayter, you might want to take a look at the FrakinRaces discussion thread. Seems to be some problems with the last couple of versions causing crashes. Posting this here because I'm not sure if you keep an eye on that submod thread, but you always seem to reply promptly here. Apologies if you're already aware of the issue.

Your farming is out of sync with Starbound's. Your mod gives an extra seed for harvesting. Every time. Your mod also only requires like 5 mins to make crops go from seedlings to fully mature. To put this in perspective corn in the default game requires about 30 mins to produce crop and has a 1% chance to drop a seed. Your farming portion kinda breaks the pace and feel of vanilla farming. Seriously your farming items are really whacked and don't fit in with the regular game. Can you guys please bring your mod's farming in sync with the base game?

In testing your mod I discovered a fatal crash. I grew item "voritseed" harvested it and ate the item it gave voritcap which is supposed to add the effect "breathProtection" but this status effect does not exist. It does exist as a EPP module but not as a status effect. The result was an instant game crash.

The bit I have tested out this mod it seems to be very poorly balanced to the base game content. An example is I can turn a log worth 0 into a block that sells for a profit. Considering how quick it is to plant and harvest a whole line of trees this is basically is a way to break my server's economy. Is this mod supposed to reflect Starbound's design and feel? Seems to me like its either intended to be run with other select mods or the team just does not care about keeping the balance Chucklefish carefully designed.

What kind of economy do you wish to maintain? Any player can build a pretty much infinite pixel-generating setup even in vanilla. If players wish to plant, chop and sell all day there is little one can do. Those will have more pixels than you might want them to. But you wouldn't kick players just because they build themselves a ginormous (vanilla) rice farm, would you?

That said, yes, there is a big disparity between 1.0 vanilla farming and FU farming. I must admit I am not sure which one I prefer. Probably some middle ground would be perfect. FU crops tend to grow quite rapidly compared to vanilla ones. Most of FU's plant are worth either nothing or 5 to 10 Pixels though, so money generation does not seem the big issue. I have discovered only two plants worth stuffing in the hydroponics tray for monetary gains since the stacking and rotting changes.

Another aspect is the effects granted by many of these plants. I wouldn't want to wait hours for enough crops to go explore some dangerous planet, only to run out deep underground.

how about constructive feedback instead of whining?

I'm aware of the farming growth rate, and seed rate. Seeds are necessary to create Genes in the xeno lab, or to extract for resources. A simple fact you apparently did not take into consideration in your calculations , at all. Since without those seeds, FU promptly no longer works properly. So, I need to carefully balance this part. And as someone else said, EVERY farm can rapidly turn a profit.

Balance is always a concern of mine, but I also have over 70,000 FILES to balance, dude. And I am ONE GUY. Have a little @$%$##ing respect.

A simple "you should rework plant growth and seed drop times, as they are providing too rapid an income" would be far , far better than this nonsense.

also, you are wrong. breathProtection is a stat, but it has a different value now. Easily adjusted, and I'll do that soon. Thanks.

Next time, don't be accusatory, and instead think of all the time and effort I devote to this mod so YOU can play and enjoy it. Christ.

Warnings do not cause a Beam-to-Ship. Scroll down further, and look for the words "Error" and "Exception" instead.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

I HATE HATE HATE Vanilla farming. It is too stinking slow, and useless. Most of FU plants give buff foods or materials that are worth zero pixels (with the exception of the orange pepper-like plants that heal you).

Waiting 30 MINUTES for a plant to produce a food is lame beyond description, as is getting a seed 1% of the time.

That would be THE fastest way for @sayter to kill the fun in his mod. If he actually took your suggestion, then I would be using /spawnitem a lot, because I simply won't deal with 30 minute wait times on crops. Sorry, I refuse to do it.

And LOL @ "Server Economy" ... seriously? In a game where you can earn 100k pixels just by wandering around planets and selling all the weapons you find for ridiculous cash? Starbound doesn't strike me as a game that anyone should care about "Economy" but more, rather, Co-op and teamwork.
