Hi, just a stupid question, cant find the lab, or any NPC to trigger the quest- im using workshop ver.

 

Craft a science brochure, found in your bare hands crafting list.

 

My friend is having this on her way up the tech tree currently. The frustrating thing is that this seems to be recent since I got the recipe for Advanced Processors without issue a few days ago. Was the recipe unlocked for Advanced Processors altered in any way in the recent version?

People (not you specifically, dude) : Just because you don't know a source item does not mean the mod is at fault. I would #@%#($#ing love it if people would stop wasting my time with this nonsense.

Sorry, really bad day today and not in the mood for tomfoolery or having to pull shit apart to find a basic recipe that everyone can easily find with less than 20 minutes of mod play.


Build a microchip, one of the first items you need to build to progress at all in your MA. Problem solved. Should have done that anyhow.

Except I can't see a Microchip in Matter Assembler recipe list.

 

then you need to build a circuitboard and UNLOCK the goddamned thing. If its not there ,that does not mean, or even lightly *imply* that something is broken.


i will, however, investigate. While I did not change its unlock, that doesnt mean it got screwed over in all the kerfuffle.

 

I figured it was in fact me and not something wrong with anything.

The only reason I havn't managed to figure it out yet is because the wife wanted to go yard saling/exploring today and i havnt done anything since early this morning. I'll go through and craft everything just to make sure.

Thanks for responding to something stupid like this. Sorry for bringing it up without first crafting everything. I'll definitely do that for all the other ones if I encounter any problems like this in the future.

Hey can anyone help me out. I have completed every quest given in the science outpost(all machine quests as well as the booze and bee quests) yet I have still not received the mission for the frozen wastes. My ship is level 8 and I do have access to all of the machines in the game I'm pretty sure.

 

Right well not everyone knows to; or knows how. Some people just download the file here from the forum and play man. I'm sorry your stressed and my original post wasn't intended to suggest you had royally fucked up. I literally can't stand playing Vanilla without your mod for what it's worth. I'm never going back to life without Ammonium Sulfate.

EDIT* Even though we had crafted every basic item without it unlocking yesterday; today it worked. We now have a ton of spare circuit boards from our attempts though - so silver linings.

edit: actually, what may have occurred is simple: i added NEW quests to that same NPC that must be finished to unlock the questline now. Its possible people on the already existing quests got screwed over because SB just loves to do that. Head back to her at the science outpost and see if she is offering quests you have no obtained yet.

I think the issue was we forgot to remove the old patch file for the original vanilla circuitboard. both the replacement file, and the old patch file were present. While it DID work...i think what probably occurred was for some reason , every now and then, it wouldnt load the patch to overwrite the file...so youd not get an unlock.


I'll get that corrected by removing the extra file.

 

Hey. Yes so I removed my current version of fu and then readded the latest off of github. Thankfully she does have the quest now. Thank you for your help

 

Huh, I have circuit boards. Still advanced processer is not coming up in the matter assembler.
I'm just wondering what i could have missed or done wrong. I've made all of the other obvious materials in the list. The only things I have yet to make are the bombs and some of the higher tiered crafting things.

Well, I thought of something...
So... I did the /admin command for the first time ever. With admin mode on I have the crafting recipe for advanced processer. Without admin mode I do not. I have made well over 10 circuit boards and have hundreds of tungsten bars. Is there a way to unlock the recipe for advanced processer at this point? Or am I forever going to have to /admin every time I want to make this item? (at least with this character)

 

I don't know if this has been brought up before or if it's a different mod but when I teleport to the science outpost it auto teleports me back, and I've tried removing all of the mods I have installed and seeing if that would fix it but it hasn't.

 

yes, he changed the teleport location in the more recent version. Grab the latest version of the mod off of github.

 

grab the github build. the unlock should properly operate now. There were basically two of the same file, and that may have caused problems. It certainly worked no problem for me. Pick up a circuitboard again.

 

I'm having an issue teleporting to the Frozen Waste for one of the science missions. It will teleport me to the surface, and then immediately teleport me back to my ship. Sometimes it will just stall while trying to teleport there and give me the same screen for a while.

I have tried going down with a cryo suit instead of an EPP to no avail.

Here are the mods I have installed:

Truespace.pak
TrueSpaceFUPatch.pak
improved_containers_1-7.pak

Any help would be appreciated.

 

Hey I had the same issue although it only occurred the first time I went down. The first thing I'll tell you to try is is simply spamming your keyboard to see if you can move the second you are teleported to the frozen wastes. If they doesn't work after a try or two then try switching out your FrackinUniverse.pak for the latest github build. Make sure to not start your game without one of the two versions of the mod though. Let me know if you manage to get it to work. I haven't had a problem since I got it to work the first time.

 

Finally got it working on the clanforge server by grabbing the files from the steam workshop folder unpacking them, renaming them, repacking them then uploading them but its working now at least
