RELEASED FrackinUniverse 6.4.3

Enhance your starbound experience in every area. Massive mod.

  1. Lucid Flare

    Lucid Flare Void-Bound Voyager

I can get you the logs. When I download the mod from Git it gives me a folder called FrackingUniverse-master. I don't see a .pak file like some of my other mods are.

Also concerning the 1.0 version I said that because that's what the description for it said. On the upper right just above the file list. Even in the link you gave here.

Anyhow I'll edit this with the logs in a moment.

    :::EDIT:::

Logs are now attached. My games and the one from our server host.

    I have a question!

I sub to this mod through steam. Other mods on steam require FU but would I be able to run everything okay if I used the github version plus those steam mods? They don't change things they just require assets. That should be okay right?

Rename "FrackinUniverse-master" to "FrackinUniverse". (the "master" thing is a GitHub thing, it always does that).

Mods no longer have .modpak files, they were replaced by a ".metadata" file. This is normal.

Thanks for the help with that. Seriously. Helped me narrow down the problem. So nearly every tutorial I found said to put mods into the Giraffe Storage/mods directory....That's why it wasn't working. I moved them all to starbound/mods and now they are all working flawlessly so far! That's one headache out of the way. I can now warp to the Science Facility and am standing outside right now.

Seriously thank you. if you hadn't said remove -master and that .modpaks are no longer used I doubt I'd have put things together this quickly. :)

    Glad to be of help!

And yeah, they made that change not very long ago at all, the .metadata thing is <1 month old, and most people didn't know about it until the release of 1.0 which was only a week ago, so yeah, nearly every guide you'll find about installing mods is probably gonna be out of date.

    At least you know now!

@kokjoo89 : Did you download from GitHub or Steam Workshop within the last 24 hours? The mod repository here is horribly out of date and buggy.

im doing castlevania mod and recently got msg on steam:
"i use frackin universe and everytime i try to use them both (castlevania and fu) i get error in log related to an alloy furnace not being spawned properly causing the age old beam back to ship bug when teleporting down to planets"

im not sure how its even possible, i know theres 1 object from my mod here, but i doubt its the case. so im totally at a loss here...

I've run into an odd bug: at times, when an area initialises, my character's health is reduced to 1/8 of his normal health (as in, he gets horribly hurt for no reason at all), even if I was at full health before. By "an area initialises", I mean "I beam up to my ship", "I enter a challenge room", or even "I enter the server".

I'm wondering if any other FU user has run into the issue; I can't find anything in the log, it seems, and I can't find anything online about this. Not to mention, I can't uninstall FU to check if it happens without it, because it'd corrupt my universe, as far as I know.

I hope it's ok if I ask here?

I seem to be having a bit of an issue where I keep getting returned to my ship upon trying to beam down to a planet. The only other mods in use when the issue occurred were the Avali race mod and the xbawks character menu. I'm also using the latest FrackinUniverse from github. I've attached the starbound.log file as per usual procedure.

@SpaceDonkeyKong : Loading your game up, heal up, beam down a planet and then beam back up, shut the game down and post the log. Also, what kind of planet is this? You're not going somewhere like an Irradiated/Extreme Cold/Extreme Hot planet without an FU armor, are you?

    It's Avali's fault.

It's trying to place a dungeon called "avalirandom" that doesn't exist/isn't defined properly.

EDIT: Wait, this was a Garden world? I see that it is trying to place a garden gate so I assume this is a garden world... they put a town on a garden planet? lol.

Generally not a log-able bug report, but we also realized that +Run bonuses from armors don't increase movement speed.

I think I've figured it out!

For some reason, the effects of the piece of Densinium Armour that I'm wearing (making me insensitive to radiation, then) take a fraction of a second to manifest every time I beam to or from a place with radiation (like a jungle planet). The result is that for a fraction of a second, the "Radiation" symbol appears under my healthbar, then it disappears (but by that time, the radiation has already put me inches from death).
Considering I have a piece of Densinium Armour and a piece of War Angel Armour, it felt weird that this would happen, but it makes more sense if the effects of the vanilla environment load before the effects of the FU equipment. It'd still be nice if there was a way for those effects to be taken into account in the opposite order!

To replicate the bug, wear a piece of radiation protection armour like the Densinium one, no radiation EPP, and beam into a ("casually", not lethally) radioactive world. Then beam back. It should happen.

eh its only a couple years old. i think i got it in 2014? but its not a gaming laptop so the gpu is pretty weak. but I can play skyrim with it fairly well  I was just curious. I run starbound in generally pretty smoothly. It was just the bog planets that was causing me issues. Is there anyway I can remove it manually just for myself? I really liked the look of the planet and would love to explore it! Thank you for replying! I would have answered sooner but i didnt have any days off from work to get online.

yea, if using the github version its stupid easy to adjust

open weather.config in the root directory for FU

    find "bog" entry

    remove "fog" entry.

    save.

profit. This will also apply to currently existing bogs, I believe, as they call on the current weather list to the best of my knowledge.

I'm trying to figure out how to craft the item "advanced processor". The wiki page i found says that it's crafted through the matter manipulator using 2 silicon and a tungsten bar.

In my matter assembler there is no such recipe. Even though I have both of those crafting mats in my inventory.

Did i skip a step somewhere along the line and I'm not supposed to be able to craft it yet? Or is this a bug?

I have found a few of the crafting "tables" in various apex labs, that's why i think i might have skipped something.

You need to craft circuit boards first. I think the recipe for the advanced processor involves two circuit boards, not two silicon.

Go back a page or two, and you'll see a conversation between me and another player about the very issue. I explain step-by-step (code included) how to make a mod that removes all fog weather from every biome that features it.

Oh you are right I mistakenly said that it used silicon when in fact it does use circuit boards. That was simply a mis-statement, i was actually trying to use the circuit boards and not silicon; silicon is used to create the circuit boards and thats where my confusion must have been. But its still not coming up. So i'm not really sure what to do.

I think ill try re crafting the matter assembler. Not being able to find much on it searching through google tells me the problem most likely lies with me. So i'll either update this post with my success or failure. Wish me luck. Ha.

Edit: Yeah my matter assembler doesnt have the recipe for the advanced processor. I have crafted several circuit boards i have many tungsten bars. Very strange.

Anyone else having problems with a few planets where you start way up in the air and you wind up plummeting to your death?

This only seems to happen on a very few worlds for me, but it does happen.

Had the spawn in air thing happen a few times to me too.

Oh and as far as the advanced processor, the wiki might be a bit out of date. Try making some of the base items before advancing, you might have missed a key item to make. I've done that enough myself.
