RELEASED FrackinUniverse 6.4.3

Enhance your starbound experience in every area. Massive mod.

  1. BluntQuotient

    BluntQuotient Void-Bound Voyager

Biggest and Best mod for starbound. Id like to see more modders join him though and help him add there mods into this one. Like MoreFarmingMod and YesChief! I like that mod as well but you have to tweak stuff to make them not conflict, I have to delete tungsterbar out of mfm/yeschief to make it work and im not sure if I can use tungsten from frackin universe to make things for that mod. Id like to see the better mods like that one come together in this mod. Thing's like big game hunter, crystalworks rebirth/atomworks rebirth/hunter reincarnate/collectiable figurines etc. Other modders quit your mods and help this guy make his bigger.

    no. Just no.

I don't mind merging things in. I do have huge issue with saying I should just absorb everything. I don't WANT everything, nor would I want to step on peoples creative toes to just suck up their stuff. I always ask and credit where necessary, and that's all there is to it.

People need to stop saying things like this. I appreciate the compliment to the mod, but you're effectively saying "no one else's mod deserves to be its own thing and should just join you" which is rude.

as for conflicts: how would Tungsten conflict with MoreFarming or YesChef? Neither of those are mining mods that add ores, to my knowledge. Test and see which mod conflicts with it and then inform the author.

Firstly, please don't post in gigantic goddamned text for no reason.

Second, you didn't bother to attach a log, despite this being the very first thing asked for on the mods page when dealing with bugs. I cannot see what your problem is without the log file. I have no idea where it lives on a Mac, but its there somewhere. Procure it, send it my way, and I'll see what the issue is.

Also... version of game you are using? Version of the mod? Github?

For those poor souls that still have the original Peglaci Race mod in their mod folders, there is still an item in FrackinUniverse that's name has yet to be changed and as a result, causing Starbound to crash upon start-up due to name duplication. The item I'm talking about is the "fuguardpistol". I used notepad++ to see for myself that the actual item name was still "guardpistol", instead of "fuguardpistol", and that in turned caused a lot of issues.

I fixed it myself so it has ceased to be an issue for me, but just a heads up. Don't want to anger the Peglaci users :(

    sayter The Waste of Time

one more question bro how would you know if the mod is installed or not?

when the game loads , the main screen straight up tells you what mods are loaded on the right hand side in bright red text.

that or check the log to make sure.

I have some feedback about the new Strange Sea biome. I landed on one that was Insane and it appeared that there was tons of ores right at the surface. Like an insanely high amount sort of like what you'd see deep underground (gold, rubium, titanium, and diamonds to name a few). I'm just wondreing if this is working as intended. Also were there meant to be dungeon on these worlds? I never remember finding any on ocean-like worlds before, but I beamed down next to some Floran building with hostile NPCs (stood little chance sine I was poorly equipped). Overall I am looking forward to exploring this world more as long as I can get around all the acid rain. And the slippy ice everywhere. And the super deadly locals. Oh yeah and there was lava too.

The ore thing has not gone unnoticed, though as for a cause I have no idea. I added new ore tables, but only applied one on chromatic worlds with any appreciable change. I think it has to do with the ore tables not going that high in tier, so it just defaults to crazy-assed amounts. Thus, I may need to add additional tiers.

Sorry if this has been asked already but is this mod useable on a mac? I can't seem to get the file to open (nothing I have can open it?)
I'm not very skilled when it comes to extracting files and such, perhaps it's just me haha

should work fine. you just need somethi8ng to unzip the file. Macs should handle zip files by default on the current OS (and any max OSX that I know of, for that matter)

you wont be able to open the modpack file without a special extension, nor would you need to. it just goes into the /mods/ directory within giraffe_storage

edit: a quick 15-second search on the internet would have answered your question. Found a few results within that timeframe. Most seem to be outdated (to your credit) though the process is more or less identical save for the destination (giraffe_storage/mods/ )

going to be revisiting the mining guns today. Afterwards they should pretty much all be useful right from the start without being OP for mining.

if you have input, feel free to chime in!

I noticed that the mining guns cut out if you try to shoot the ground at your feet. If that could be fixed, it would be awesome.

I'm wondering what is the Shadow Gas used for?
I've collected nearly 6K of the stuff and stored it in a tank until I know what it's used for.[As of now I've yet to construct the lab equipment]

thats how all guns function in starbound. Try firing any weapon point blank at a wall. Nothing I can do about it :)

Well , perhaps you should construct some and figure it out then.

Yeah I think I might have seen some stuff like that on some Unknown worlds, but it has been a while since I've been to one. Also with all the new world types it seems to be a bit harder to find some of the rare world types. I've had a harder time finding Gelatinous worlds for example. It might be good you do a review of the planet spawns to make sure things aren't so RNG dependent. Dark worlds for example aren't so hard to find since they really only appear around black stars and there isn't much else there.

A secondary use is to fill any moats around a base you have. The thing about shadow gas is that a gas mask stops all damage. Other options like lava require high end items if you don't want to get killed every time you fall in by mistake. Also useful in NPC death cambers for the evil overlords among us.

Gelatinous only appear around a few things, in a very specific temperature range. Warm or Temperate, that's all. And you're more likely to find them around vanilla stars than anywhere else, tier 3 and up is most probable.

As for "not so RNG dependent" - not possible. The entire game is based on the RNG. I can't do anything about individual planet ratios because we can only set the rate of planets per star type, not per biome type (or I'd simply have done it that way to start with! much easier! but noooo). Generally speaking, while sometimes you get stiffed if you are looking in the wrong climates, I'm pleased enough with the randomness of world types.

Now, that said, I do want to adjust where some biomes spawn. The main issue is with vanilla stars being non-temperature biased for biomes. Without rewriting that part of the game a little, it just won't be as ideal as desired.
