    sayter The Waste of Time

    Live on Github

    - added numerous weapons and gear from the Peglaci race mod, since its now open to such things,. Enjoy the heap of new gear! Item names are changed to suit FU where applicable. Most fit into the rubium/aegisalt/violium ore grouping in terms of resources for crafting.

    - reskinned Lactarius Indigo

    - shoggoth loot should be 300% better

    - touched up the hyperion particle cannon sprite

    - added a few new muzzle flashes

    - new look and name for Druidic Carbine. It’s now the Verdant Carbine. Any old versions will now become PGIs, as I have completely removed all references to its old name.

    - new weapon: Verdant Railgun

    - slight adjustments to loot table frequencies of certain random-gen weapons

stahp askin. There's no way to do this yet, and I've told that several times now ! When and if the API allows it, i'll check it out.

I'd honestly prefer a larger planet-info hud window so i can just fit more text.

Just a question: Is the ore distribuition in a given planet determined when you beam down or before that?

I -think- it's on planet generation, when the star appears in the map window. Don't quote me on that though.

The point when you first Travel to a planet - the planet is generated before you beam down.

    Good to know.

The idea of the scanner that detect the amount of ores in the planet could be done in a way similar to the "Ground Penetration Radar" mod works. This mod allow you to see a map of the planet underground with all the ores locations, including the ores in the background wall.

In the case of the planetary scanner I suggest a new station that is placed on the ship and needs power to work. When activated the scanner would do the same thing that the GPR mod do, except that instead of showing a map of the planet with the ores location, it will do a count on the number of tiles that contain ores, which types of ore and then it will display a new window with a report on the types and amount (as a "%" percentage) of ores in the planet. While it do the count the window would "play" an animation of the planet being scanned.

    Just a suggestion.

Well counting ore tiles is perfectly possible - as long as its done on the planet it self only.
It is impossible to do on the ship.

Cause the planet is not loaded?

Yes - an there is no way for the code to access the planet from the ship.

Got it. Since the script for the mod is not a program on itself it cant "read" the world file.

At least there's a way to "scout" a planet for specific ores even if you have to land in the planet in the first place.

Ya hear that Sayter? A tile-counter is possible... heh.

But you have to keep in mind - even if on the planet it can't "read" the planet file and just give you the information.
The code literally has to check each tile one at a time and then add it up. There is also a limitation of range in unloaded regions of the planet.

I myself would rather it just tell you what ores can be found, any sub-biomes, and any major dungeons. The exact number of ores isn't really needed since no one sane is ever going to mine the whole world. Most of the info could simplely come from an indepth codex since ores are based on the biome or subbiome.

I wish people would stop using the word simply, unless they were sure it was ( it isn't ) possible in the first place.
You can't "read" a file - as you can "read" the properties of on object \ item \ entity.
The world it self currently has no properties to be read.

I have done that once, mining all the ores in a planet.

It was a small one and it took me 2 days to complete the task...

What I was trying to say was instead of a fancy scanner you have something that poops out codexes based on it's current worlds, or just have a detailed codex with the ore info somewhere ingame. All that I think is really needed is for there to be somewhere that outright states what ore should appear in a biome ingame. If you have to pay a minor price and travel to the biome itself then all the better, but it's not a deal breaker.

True, but some mods have a really huge range of effect (digger turrets comes to mind on that) and I believe that such loading ranges are quite large and could be used to define limit range for that mining scanner we are talking about.

We'll leave that up to mods like the ground radar, since they're already doing it. I wouldn't know where to start.
