you're young, so im not surprised you've never heard of it. It came out in the 90s. And it's amazing.

Well, to complete the fixed Bees! wooden centrifuge quest do I have to create a new character? for I found the quest still uncompletable. Similar situation with the blast furnace quest, I got it when it was the electric arc furnace quest and it hasn't been updated together with the version, so to meet the quest I still have to craft an electric arc furnace. Is there any way I can cancel the quest and restart it? The existed "cancel" buttom seems not functional.

Sadly, the quest system at present is lack-lustre in terms of cancelling, or completing previously broken quests. It writes them to your character as-is. Upside? They are minor quests that don't impact overall progression.

Once the combat update from CF hits, i'll probably be writing all the quests over again anyhow.

always a chance. But it's an "old" game, and thus forgotten by many.

Well I heard of it years later after they released the source code and free version online. It's one of those old school games like X-COM: UFO Defense that are worth a look at even over 20 years later. It's one of those games with a cult following due to how good it was.

If I want to go back to games that are nearly 20 years old, I'll stick with ADOM.

    Which just hit Steam. :D

thanks for that link. I was hoping i'd get a reliable link for it.

I wonder if they changed any core gameplay while they were at it, specifically in the MP/vs cpu battles

edit: damn. 1992. Now I feel older than dirt!

In the future you might want to try looking in the Github code. THis way you can find where the ore should appear without any misinformantion. It can also be useful when you really want to know how to unlock some item that you can't firgaure out on your own. You never know but you might find a bug that was preventing you from finding it and could help others by revealing it.

or, yknow, try reading the last couple update notes to see if answers are there as well. Wolframite was basically added two updates ago and a simple search would have given the answer.

At this point it's no longer quite true (it was true when you first added it and there were lots of people asking about it). I did a quick search and it's last talked about something like 4 major textwall updates ago. While it is talked about in the biome lists on the frontpage, it is not in the "Notable Ores and Tiles" lists. That area is what really catchs the eye when you read it over for the first time so it might be easy for uninformed newbies to miss.

A second way to force people to learn about it would be to add it to the starting lab quest line. This way it would be right in peoples faces like much of the other items you need to gather. Having a quest would also help as after people complete it they can refer back to it to find the location if they forgot. I know this method really helpped with learning all the stuff that it need to extract when I first started. I never would have known to look for Cinnabar to get Mercury for example.

You could also add it to the to mountainous worlds description on the nav screen that they contain wolfram in the same way that other worlds often talk about their ores (Cinnabar again being a good example).

What we need is an ore scanner, something aboard ship that reads the planet file and speaks in general chat going "iron detected. rubium detected. Butt garbage detected. Heavy's Sandvich detected. Heavy concentrations of Protocyte. Core standard (magma)."
