    Weird, it keeps saying this...

Fatal Exception caught: (StarException) An error occurred during
loading: (ItemException) Duplicate item name 'beer' found

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Maybe you've already figured it out, but if not: the key with solar panels seems to be light(ing). Each will produce at least 1 unit of power as long as there's light nearby; artificial lights work just fine for this purpose. In testing, I had 8 solar panels powering my arc smelter aboard my ship; takes a lot of space of course, but at least I don't have to worry about refueling the generators. :D[DOUBLEPOST=1446080949][/DOUBLEPOST]
Sounds like you have another mod installed which also adds beer; hard to say any more without more details from the log, specifically which mods you are using etc.

Ohhhhhhh wait I think I found the mod that's conflicting with it. StarstacheV2.8.5 has 'beer' files in it, but while Frackin Universe may have Starbooze bundled with it, it doesn't have any files specifically named 'beer'...

Actually, FU does have an item named beer -- beer.consumable, under items/generic/drinks/beer. So you'd have to either edit one of the mods to remove its beer item, or drop one of the mods, to get past the error on startup.

Don't have the time to edit one of the mods at the moment, so I'm just gonna drop Starstache for now. Thanks for the help man!

Well one use for nuclear waste is that it tends to be really dense, and as such really hurts when you hit someone with it (the deadly radation doesn't help either).

Depleted Uranium which would be one byproduct has a number of uses that could appear in FU. First off it is less radioactive (its main health threat is due to it being toxic not radation) and can infact be used in radation shielding. It also catches fire (yes it's a metal that burns) so it can burn things on top of hitting them very hard.

So from those uses you could have:

    - A hammer that hits very hard and is fire element
    - Some kind of gun (would have to be large or some some of railgun),say a sniper rilfe, that does high damage per shot and again sets things on fire
    - Mix it into some anti-radation armour crafting
    - Use it to build nuclear reactors that don't posion everyone near them (so the first reactor is the same, but you can then build better shielded units afterwards with all the other stats being more or less the same equal)
    - Add it as a secondary item in crafting any "dense" armour

It might also be a good idea to be able to enrich your nuclear fuel so it has better yeilds. You could mix heavy water (heavy water would be easy to add since you just boil lots of water to get it, so you just add it to any smelter station) with the normal nuclear fuel items and end up with more net fuel.

Finally on the topic of nuclear fun, a gamma ray enegry weapon might be fun to play with. More or less an old school green death ray.

Id not thought of Depleted Uranium, actually. Good point. One of the new weapons added does require toxic waste but i suppose more will come later :)[DOUBLEPOST=1446116460][/DOUBLEPOST]
i dont think you need to register. It goes to a page with a download link on it. Unless they annoyingly changed their policy at mediafire.

But, I'll likely stick with them because all the other options tried thus far have sucked in comparison.

edit: just tested. confirmed that no registration is necessary. That said, you could also use the github version and skip that entirely.

Getting a CTD on startup. Seems that the game can't find something to do with Solar Panels.

Okay I found the issue. You added a new line about blueprints when there was already one there (file is: FrackinUniverse\objects\power\isn_solarpanel\isn_solarpanel.object).

yea, im on it. massive push coming in a few moments.

Producing an Advanced Alloy gives a PGI "blueprint"; due to RecipeException "No such item 'fu_microwaveray'". Correct reference seems to be isn_microwaveray.[DOUBLEPOST=1446147211][/DOUBLEPOST]Weapons appear to need more balancing in terms of damage output, or at least in their stated "level" -- to take some current examples: Hellfire Cannon, lvl 7, 25 DPS - XT3 Laser, lvl 5, 70 DPS - Napalm Launcher, lvl 7, 14 DPS - Energy Assault Rifle, lvl 3, 49 DPS - Magma Cannon, lvl 5, 96 DPS - Tesla Rifle - lvl 5, 21 DPS. Now, pure damage of course isn't everything, but it certainly matters, at least as far as I'm concerned. ;) A Densinium Rifle has served me well for a good while now, but its stated level of 9 seems exaggerated when e.g. the new Polaris Gun at level 6 has almost exactly twice its DPS (120 vs. 62).

yea, the dps value isn't always the best thing to go by, though. Sometimes energy per shot, or damage per shot is a better metric to follow (excluding weapons with special effects that effectively make them "uniques" )

That said, you aren't wrong. Fine tuning is the big pain in the tuckus. But I'm going to wait until the combat update anyhow, since that is a better time to do so. They could have completely altered all damage yet again, and I'm loathe to do the same job twice.

I think the bigger issue is that most of the armours are so good that nothing can hurt you. After you make your first exotic FU armour you can pretty much ingore any damage from monsters. For example Spacer armour gives a total armour rating of 97 while the Impervium armour sets (highest defence in the base game) give 80. Getting Spacer armour isn't that hard once you can leave your starting system (biggest issue is finding a Proto world), which is far earlier then you would ever get Impervium. I feel that at least for now the armours should largely match base game tiers of about the level that you could get around the same time. Maybe give them a small boost in one area or another, but not in defence since it can make them over powered really fast.

yea, armors are slated for a complete rebalance. Don't sweat it. As I said, it's been no rush since combat is getting such an overhaul.

I've been tinkering with values today, as a matter of fact. (i noticed the armor issue when testing the shoggoth the other day and am only just now getting around to it)

edit: ill have armor values redone for the push tonight. i think i may just do a publish this time though, its overdue and this update is getting cumbersome in size.

Sayter: Browsing the new files and changes at github, I noticed something in densealloy.item. Its new blueprints learned on pickup point to hylatisarmorchest/head/legs; however, there is no armor set with those names, but rather one named hytalisarmorchest/head/legs. :)
