Last question: Is it necessary to delete the entire mod folder, or can I delete and extract the specifically modified folders as stated by github (as long as the latest commit doesn't change 200 files)?

For example: you made a change to biomes/oredistributions.configfunctions.patch, so I look for the folder it's in, delete it, and then from the freshly updated version from github, I find that specific folder that I removed, and place that in it's place.

Surely that would work as long as I made sure to do that for all of the modified folders for all commits that passed through... right? And everyone wins? (I.E. I don't have to do the 5-10 minute extraction process for a commit that changes 2-6 files, and you can be informed of anything noteworthy I find as long as I did the updating process correctly.)

Gah... still errors... I did another wipe too... can I just fix this myself by moving/removing a folder or file?

The error is at... /monsters/boss/shoggoth/parts/chest.monsterpart so it's different from the last one I think.

Says it's another (MonsterException) Repeat monster part name 'shoggothchest' for category 'shoggoth'.

Is... that error the result of two files being called the same thing? Is it because there are two shoggoth.png files that can be found in the entire shoggoth folder (one in parts, another in organic/chest), both sharing the exact same name?

Generally, it's best to remove all of it. Then install new. Keeps from having issues on things that were changed but forgotten when the update was written up.

lol not more content, no..but a lot of it :)[DOUBLEPOST=1441064965][/DOUBLEPOST]
why bother to cherry pick? Youre downloading the whole damned thing anyway. Just delete and replace.

and no, the error is specifically saying that there are two shoggothchest as an ID..which there most certainly are not, even on the github as can currently be seen.

    Code:
    Searching for: shoggothchest
    monsters\boss\shoggoth\parts\chest.monsterpart(2): "name" : "shoggothchest",
    monsters\boss\shoggoth\parts\chest.monsterpart(7): "chest" : "shoggothchest.png"

    Found 2 occurrence(s) in 1 file(s)

looking through all the folders: no duplicates in sight.

Hot damn, I think I was. I'm checking the download history for the version that I grabbed, and it didn't match up with anything up until a version that was posted 2 days ago. (Seriously, how did this happen?)

That being said, I feel somewhat happy that I actually somehow managed to stop it from crashing. (I just removed the chest.monster part file out of the parts folder and that stopped the crashing. I'm PRETTY SURE THOUGH that that particular choice of action would probably amount to some disciplinary scolding by anyone that actually knows how to code.)

I'm also sad that we went through this whole ordeal because of a lack of understanding on which version I was actually getting.

I'm going to confirm which version I get this time before I even do any extracting.

Sorry for wasting your time through on old issues.

Edit: Here we go. RC-master.zip. Just... wow am I stupid for not noticing that I was grabbing a numbered & lettered version... let alone comparing the numbers to make sure...

I had apparently grabbed versions f89f328, and 24c16d9... both over 2 days old...

I'm not sure what you mean by Trianglium, Gold, Platinum, removed

    You removed vanilla resources?

Also why did Trianglium get the chopping block?
I suddenly can't remember what it was used for but I could swear it was important

It's actually GitHub's fault, this time. You uploaded the new files, which overwrote any changes, but any files which were *not* uploaded, already being present in the repository, were not deleted. You need to remove the file from the repository for it to stop being included in downloads.

Little bit of a bug report for terrain here. Maybe. I went to an Unknown-type world. Surface of it was a tidepool worls, ocean and oystershell and rostone, etc. led to a fallen ship on dirt, and a Avian temple. On floating down, I suddenly find a gargantuan pocket of shadow gas instead of water. Even more odd, is that rather than a seafloor, the ground is snowy and mountainous, with water falling from above if I stand still and look up long enough. I'm unsure if this is normal or not for a mystery world .

God I feel so stupid when I miss details like that

I was so caught up in "Gold, silver, trianglium removed that I didn't realize it was the same sentence as crystalmoon only[DOUBLEPOST=1441087267][/DOUBLEPOST]
That would be a placeholder item recipe

Perfectly Generic Item is a kinda cheat item which isn't possible to naturally get
He probably will be updating that recipe to something else soon

You downloaded the wrong file. MediaFire pages tend to have fake download buttons injected as advertisements.

its perfectly fine . Unknown worlds are quite literally random.
    Yea, that's a bug. Thanks. I will fix.[DOUBLEPOST=1441104756][/DOUBLEPOST]

uh...you probably mean a .modpack file right? You just put that in the /mods/ directory. it doesnt need a subfolder. put in /mods and run the game . done. Most mods here use modpacks these days.

I decided to take a look at the FU radiantLight values while I was working on getting the values for the glowing ore mod I use updated to PG (since they had stopped showing up) and I noticed something.

According to the Illuminated Ores mod thread, the devs changed the number values for radiantLight to work off of 0-255 instead of 0.0-1.00...so the existing numbers in mods need to be updated. The five matmod files that you have that have the radiantLight values in are still using the old system...and according to someone in that system, to get the new values you simply need to multiply the existing values by 255. I went ahead and added them to the illumination fixes I'm doing on my own end, but figured I'd give the new values here, as well.

    corruption - 64, 13, 64
    densinium - 61, 0, 61
    irradium - 3, 8, 179
    penumbrite - 38, 51, 128
    protocite - 18, 128, 51

Now, these values are rounded the way I wanted to round them...so they might not be EXACTLY the numbers you want, but they should be right around where they should be, based on that person's post. ^^

Here's the post that mentions this multiplier and whatnot for reference: Illuminated Ores Thread Post - or..it's Post #24 at http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/illuminated-ores.88266/page-2 if you want to read the stuff around it (if you feel that's necessary ^^).

ah, nice catch. I hadn't noticed that. Thanks. I dont need computations though, only a palette popup in photoshop is required to obtain the RGBA values i need. I'll update the values accordingly.
