You need the nano-fabricator station. That is the "upgrade your shit" station, basically. There's a bunch of stuff in it, but it needs to be unlocked. For the mining lasers, that is straightforward : each one unlocks the next one.

You'll also find some techs at that station. They aren't typically simple to make, and for good reason: They're really, really useful.

 

1.4.7.8 is basically up for grabs now. I'm trying to post it but the site, as usual, won't let me.

Uh, so that's what i'm supposed to look for, nano fabricator. I probably had it before my terribad crash, but now i need minerals and protective gear for the FU biomes.

 

you dont need the nano fab to survive the biomes though Just the right combination of gear and armor. Get a Field Generator pack and you're fine from the general biome effects. The liquids and other such things can be avoided with yet other gear now. Or, leafshell, blizzberry etc.

 

The problem is, higher tier = rare ores, and for rare ores, i need better gear, it's an infinite loop that i can only break when taking risks, and to take risks, i'd need some free time, which i'm lacking recently. :c

 

well, the Field Generator isn't too bad to produce. Start with that and you can go from there far easier.

 

Alright, Field Generator done. I heard it can be improved?
Either way, now i need to find out which armor can protect against liquids and i'll be forever safe from the pesky biomes. Also, great light-emitting protocite helmet~ Forgot the name~

 

By far my favourite mod, it's hard to play my old vanilla server now. >~<

 

I just went into a proto world, and for the first time i saw three biomes in the same place. Or rather, FOUR. There was the obvious proto planet stuff, but there was the frozen-volcanic stuff and a bunch of elder stones. Is that even NORMAL?
I mean, they weren't in different parts, they were -very- mixed up at the starting point of the planet.

 

Well, if you want TONS of immunity, that means Densinium or Elder right now Elder armor will take some exploring, since you'll need to locate blueprints located only in Elder sub-biomes. Densinium is going to need some densinium. That's a task to gather.

But yea, read the most recent update notes and figure out what has which immunities since there are many effects now

 

Most of the individual liquids have plants that ignore their effects and are easy to grow as well.


(Would it be viable to make a potionish-thing that uses ground up Elder Stone and some other stuff to make a consumable that gives the Elder status for a short period of time as an earlyish game alternative?

 

no. Elder is overpowered intentionally for end game. No intent of making a mystic cure-all readily available. As rare loot, perhaps.
