Bio fuel and Proto Fuel and Erithian Algae "should" still fuel your ship. I haven't tested it, but as far as i know they should still work for that purpose. If not, I'll fix them up so that they do. I imagine Densinium is ripe with possibilities for fuel too.

 

Fuel, armor, and who knows what else? Hell, make a gun and some melee weapons from it, too.

 

yep. melee weapons and guns are planned. That's a given.

If I had more graphics peeps, I'd have furniture too.

After updating I played for 5 minutes and crafted the bamboo seeds for the quest.
Upon crafting the seeds the game crashed.
Now, whenever I load the character it immediately crashes.

Thought you might want to check the log.

You have a savegame corruption here. Does your log backup contain the moment where you crafted those seeds?

 

I think this one is the log from the initial crash.

 

hmm. Well, i don't think it's anything to do with the bamboo, since the item itself is fine and there's nothign about it in the log. That error, sadly, tells me little at all.

However, it sounds to me like you might have been doing the OLD quests. Because there is absolutely no way you got to the bamboo seeds quest that fast this time around. In fact, I don't even think there IS a bamboo quest anymore. Therefore, it's a problem with you trying to complete quests that no longer exist in the first place. Did you do what the update notes prior to the ";latest" update said to do? Try that as a fix.

edit: and yes, it's you trying to finish the old quests. "create3" no longer exists. That's the problem.

Old quest makes sense. I'll just start a new character and universe.

No worries. Sorry about that. Limitation of the quests as they are right now in the vanilla game.

I -may- be able to help there, lemme poke in a forum I'm in elsewhere and I'll see if I can bring one or two in.

 

I get a crash whenever I pick up genetic material. I then have to use Starcheat to remove it from my 'mouse' in order to re-launch the game.

 

Canaris: As previously stated, it is because of the old quests being looked for but not being present. Either do what was stated in the last update notes regarding putting both the old AND new quests in the same directory from the previous versions, or start a new character.

I had never downloaded any version of FU previous to .70 though. So how would I have the old quests?

EDIT1: To be clear, I did not update from a previous version. It was a fresh install and a fresh character/universe.

that has since been addressed in the updates. Update to the newest version and see what happens. References to the incorrect 5_methanol should be rectified already, as that was swapped in the last one

In any case, since you had no previous version you don't need to worry about the old quests. If the issue persists you'd need to create a new dude. But at least you didn't get too far with the existing one before that crash, as Methanol is early on

 

anyone getting stuck at peptide chain quest in the biochem line? Does it load up Synthetic Protein quest next as it should? It just skipped it for me, but there are no errors. Just curious if it's an anomaly or something that can be repeated.

 

Okay. Dropping what "should" be the last quest fix tonight. I had a sticking issue as mentioned above, and found out what it was. Not an error, but rather, I simple had to tell it that it could not be abandoned. It was the only quest without that tag.

Which means everyone should be able to get all the stations properly now.

Sorry about the mix-ups. Large overhaul, issues arise.
