...but I didnt modified the vanilla assets, I just forget to talk about a small mod, adding some precious mineral block. Even up to date, its seemed to have a conflict with frackin universe, I removed it, and the save lauched properly...

I can confirm it works perfectly in a multiplayer setting, my wife and I play on a local server I am running and both of us can use any and all features of the mod without issue.

 

jasper: if you then swap to single player, does it cause issues? test that on a NEW character just in case. someone had issues recently and im curious.

 

Just throwing in my two cents, I've noticed it too. I have a permanent speed boost thanks to my KEA from Your Starbound Crew and it definitely does hit you if you walk into the beam. Also applies if you dash into where you just fired. However since the thing does virtually no damage I really don't see the issue. You basically just make the sound effect of getting hit and that's it.[DOUBLEPOST=1424349318][/DOUBLEPOST]

I actually just checked that out real quick for you. I'm not seeing any issues myself. If you can let me know specifically what the issue was I can test that out.

EDIT (Trying to avoid triple post): Sorry for being that guy, but it seems there is no way to create the combustion gene right now. I looked in the files and saw it was actually called the firegene, but I still couldn't seem to figure out how to unlock it, and some of the genes require it before it is unlocked. Admittedly I haven't dropped the latest update in yet, but I didn't see it mentioned in your changelogs so I thought I would let you know. Also Oonforta seems to make entirely way too many seeds... I don't know if this is the intended behaviour but I am ending up with a more or less equal ratio of globules to seeds on every harvest. Given that they are regrowing plants I am swimming in the damned things. But you can always extract them for more tissue samples!

 

Havent seen any issues either switching between single and multiplayer with this mod! Used to play with friends hosting my universe as the server universe including this mod. Now I more often play alone and play the same universe in SP without any issues.

 

This mod is huge @_@.. and I keep forgetting things like.. how do I make genetic material.. where to get certain resources.. well it still searchable on the update log and completed missions list but.. felt like.. it need a wiki for discovery founds xD ...

Is rainforest from this mod? So pretty @_@ and that ruined bunker.. volcanic area of the rainforest feels weird tho.. but I can think that the bunker actually a spaceship, fall to it and cause some barren part of the planet

 

I'm a little back and forth on that idea. I'm not sure if anyone here is familiar with the Thaumcraft mod for Minecraft, it was similar in the massive amount of content, and the push from the dev to discover things so the community ended up making a wiki for it, but it kind of kills the fun of discovering things yourself. FOR SCIENCE!

 

Thaumcraft is one of my favorite mods for Minecraft and similarly to Frackin' Universe I don't think I can play the base game without it anymore. I don't think I ever really made the connection on the similarity of the two, even though they're about very different things. Maybe that's why I love this mod so much.

I think we could have a wiki with many spoiler tags. Something like:
genetic materials
made by extracting blocks that seems to have same property with animals
spoiler alert!
flesh block
etc
etc

Wish books can be 'updated', then it would be fun to have 'discover every formula' quests to update book of formulas.

 

I would be more than willing to add in any information I discover myself if someone can host the wiki. My internet connection is my phone right now so I can't exactly host something myself...

EDIT: Also, for the record rosedragon, I actually forgot how to make Tissue Samples last night... Thankfully it is in the both the quest log, and the guide book...

 

Maybe the sampling array could actually be used for sampling things and telling you what's in them and what they could be good for? Comedy portable variant for hardcore field science.

Ouch... I am that guy.... Sorry for not going to town on everything before posting. As a suggestion though, perchance things should be reworked slightly to avoid things like needing certain genes for some things, despite not having the prerequisite gene unlocked beforehand? If that even makes sense...

 

It pushes you to research and craft and try everything. There is more to learn than it meets the eye.

 

The miner (penum) destroys blocks instead of harvesting.

 

Just got blueprint PGI'd from picking up Unrefined Gneiss.

 

That will be fixed in the next update.

 

Hybrid miner works fine, still working on supplies for the next one, lol
