    Shit, I'd forgotten all about that. I should definitely look into that, since if this crafting/resource update I want to smash out gets sorted as well as I want it to, I have to redo EVERYTHING lol

    I love that you're merging into the biomes like Bees! does (as I came up with that for Cactuar! :D) So cool to see more mods working better together!

    I can confirm a full compatibility between the two mods. I saw forest bees and some of your plants on the same planet.
    I hope Starbooze will use the same system someday.

    Yea.. on that note, does Starbooze run with both Bees and Frackin , since it now loads before both Bees and Frackin? Hoping so. I uninstalled Starbooze since it didnt, before.

    I use all three, and there are no blatant errors at least; I haven't seen any Starbooze plants or meadbee dungeons in quite a while, but then I very rarely explore forest/desert planets.

    Well, Starbooze has always merged into the biome files so I image it would work with the others just fine. I was gonna work on a starbooze patch for vitsotu in order to make it load the plants and things in the modified versions of the vitsotu biomes... I did that for Cactuar in the Bees! mod and I was gonna do it for Frackin' Flora if you'd like me to.

    Well, I never saw Starbooze flora while having Bees and FF - I had to use my own altered biome files - so I'd gladly use a better merging magic. :)

    I intend to have biome merges for Visotu in the next release, or at least soonish. Im puzzling over a HEAP of resource changes and such.

    Specifically, how to make things less grindy overall and more interesting when crafting, and encourage more exploration to find all sorts of resources. The downside to this is that some resources will be much more difficult to find. None of the core extracted stuff, mind you. (For example: Only Arid worlds have Caliche stone (already implemented for next release), only Volcanic worlds have the new volcanic tiles, that kind of thing. You want algae to help generate biofuel? Check a moist climate world like a jungle. Need Lazulite? Cold climate! )


    I have a list of 18 new materials, about half of which require some of the new materials to create. Others will spawn as new "ores" , "pot" items like the Bees! trees, and so on. They have art completed, but have been sitting collecting dust for a while. I also want to make crafting at tables more interesting (likely starting with the Cloning Lab, making it function in a similar fashion to the Bees! apiary. Place items in, wait, see if it makes seeds)

    Overall, I am open to any suggestions on improving things. Sometimes a simple idea from someone else is infinitely better, after all :)

    Well we don't really have a whole lot of different items to break down just yet. So whatever you're doing would have to account for existing stuff, mostly.

    Maybe instead of the regular way we do genes right now you could make a gene-breaking lab, where we break down some items into low-level genes and we let them rot in a lab along with a catalyst (like plutonium or solarium) and depending on the catalyst you put in there, it could take more or less time for the genes to develop into their more advanced forms.

    I'd certainly considered something like that (see Cloning Lab comment above). This is a neat idea, really. I could also add lootable DNA bits onto creatures you kill, as well.

    If I took this approach, I would likely take one of the labs and break it down into components. Say, for example, making each piece of the Design Lab function for a different purpose. So youd build the basic "desk" bit, and then each component. But that seems like a lot of Craft Table bloat. I wonder if there is a more elegant solution.


    However, we DO have a fair number of things to break down. More-so once you add in things like RockBlock mod, and so forth.

    Appreciated, but wont be needed soon. Each world type on VIsotu will have different plant selections, resources, etc. The same applies to vanilla worlds. I've already got Arid changes in there (which is nice, since Arid are pretty goddamned pointless to explore right now in vanilla) with more on the way.



    I wil, however, likely need to do compatibility patches for various mods that modify Ore distribution. Upside being that I can likely just include those in a separate ore config file for each mod, and one for all of them or something. Downside being that it is even needed in the first place. I'm going to finally play with the "append" merge property and see if that works as intended before i attempt to Overwrite.

    Well part of being a researcher is getting new gear you develop yourself. So a lab like what you said you'd probably do is something I personally would love. It'd give us a feel of progression and also customizability. Perhaps you should create a reactor placeable, of varying tiers, that would power up all your lab appliances using Wiring.

    They work by themselves, but a reactor could affect performance. Such as faster growing, more yield per breakdown, etc.

    This would also allow you to go crazier on recipe mats as the player would be expected to keep building reactors to improve their machinery.

    Biochem lab, you need tissue culture and nutrient paste, should be a little over halfway down in the list when you open Biochem lab.

    I found a bug, the "resin" is showing up as "Perfectly Generic Item".
    the "zFrackin Flora" folder is installed in the / mods folder.
    could be due to incompatibility with some mod?
