And yeah, I understand. Do you happen to know of any programs that might allow me to poke around in the metadata file without half of it looking garbled? I think I may be able to recover the save if I can fiddle with some stuff, but its rather hard to read as is.

I still find it odd that it tells you that berlinite is not found. I think that might have to do with quest popups from FU.

maybe try deleting the FU quest folders... just see what happens. Worth a go. The quests are not "needed" , per se. It'll be tough without them, but the guidebooks in-game can help.

Well I tried messing with the Metadata but that just blew up the game, so I restored to unedited files and its crashing normally again

Hopefully you can spot something I'm missin', I'm no modder myself. Also I disabled the quest package for future reference. Its not going to really do anything for this file since the quests are already in the .metadata file but there you go!
My character was on the "Find the golden duck" and "prison rock" quests at the time, had the T4 ship I think for Hytol. (I think 20 diamonds? Falcion class?)

 

Glad you enjoy. I'll be adding more to the biomes , decoration wise, once we get the core features all ironed out and updated to where they should be. That will be a while yet, though.

well, its a lua error. A lua error that has nothing to do with FU directly. So I am guessing there's nothing I can do directly to help here. But , at least that poor asshole from last week isn't the only one experiencing this bug. If only he had been one fragment of the decent person you are Wish I could do more, but I don't know enough about the backend of SB to even wager a guess.

I saw how this mod just got updated recently and when i completely delete the old version of the mod (RC064) and then moved the newer version (RC065) i keep getting this error message, help? QQ

Report time: I deleted the Metadata (quest log) and the quest folder from FU, after doing this, I am able to load my game with my existing ship, but my quests have reset (obviously) So I can quickly grind back up to a good ship if need be but there definitely seems to be some sort of conflict coming from the quests. Just as heads up, hopefully something comes from this! Cheers!

However, to beam down, you need to reset the ship, so make sure if you get this problem to get all your valuables to the main cabin or in your inventory, as the ship will shrink down to its first tier.

Where in the world do I get silicon? I visited a Crystal Moon, is it just in the surface there? I have the Bio Chemlab and the Matter Assembler, but without silicone I can't make circuit boards, and none of my current stations can make silicon. Is it above metal crafting table? I even looked at Robotic Crafting Table on one of my other characters, and I just don't know where to make this material at.

When all else fails EXTRACT.

Gather crystal from the surface of a crystal moon. The actual ground you walk on. Extract that.

 

i've learned to extract a full 1k stack of everything at least once, lets you know what can be extracted from what. Heck the radioactive planet i went to for uranium, i got almost as much from extraction as i found when i was underground.

And I second the bracken farm. I built one on my homeworld, under the lab. Hop down, harvest, throw seeds into extractor, when i get around 100 or so seeds in there, i extract for more resin.

Sometime I'll have to post the lab, although I need to clean up a few things, hehe.

 

Been searching for 4 hours. Still no silk. What planets are the best for silk

 

You should start out with a quest that gives you some Bracken tree seeds, which when fully grown will give you some silk. However I've found jungles and rainforests tend to have silk related stuff in it, don't forget to jam those silk spiders into the extractor!

 

Thick jungle should naturally spawn bracken bushes(they're not really trees, way smaller).
