    I believe this is an understatement of the year. And the fact he's not doing it for money, really, just adds to it. Better millions of tiny updates as opposed to huge pushes that CF does, though, imo.

    I think it's better to have a balance. Do the micro-updates with fun content while you are working on the major shit. Add the major shit as you go, and let people fiddle with it if it's warranted. The Irradium stuff has been in for a while. I simply hadn't finished coding it yet. Well, the rifle , at least. The armor was done, but not in the mod since I wasn't sure on it's inclusion in the first place.

    There are other things I've got kicking around that are there but unused. If you keep an eye on the github, you'll get peeks at all the stuff I commit :)

    Went to 2 other Irradiated Planets, dug deep and long on both but sadly still no irradium.
    You know what would help?! The colour :D

    Can someone please let me know what colour it has or if it glows (what i would suspect from a radioactive sounding ore :)

    Oh thats something I wanted to ask. Ive looked around almost everywhere and can't for the life of me find the vials you need to make to make stuff in the sampling array. As well as finding silk worms

    you dont need vials. you need glass.

    silk worms you'll find by digging up wild plants and such. but its much more economical to just craft a bracken tree and get endless silk.


    irradium glows and is blue in color.

    I'm hoping this question doesn't become another "what VITSOTU stuff are you importing", but given we now have techs to protect us against planetary hazards, will you be changing the mechanics of your biomes so that the vanilla nanoskins work even on your worlds?

    And by "economical" you mean "give it an hour and you could cover an entire planet with these seeds".

    I have so many seeds its just bracken silly.

    WatcherCCG: I don't think so. He's mentioned before that some of his plants will be the source of defense against those planets. I've never been one for farming even when hunger was a mechanic, but this will give me a reason to build a tiny farm in my ship once I find a USCM Prison so I can get this last quest done and thus get another ship upgrade for room. I'm cramped as is. Heh.

    Edit: As a Ponex, I don't have access to the questlines (yet :p ) --- how does one make a bracken tree? (Only planet I've visited so far is a bog world)

    Too bad for me, silk seems impossible to find for me, I can't make any advanced plastic yet, nor get a design lab

    if you are following the questlines, one of them rewards you with bracken, early on.

    failing that, you'll need the design lab.

    seems you found a "hole" in the progression though... need design lab for bracken, need plastic to build the station.




    well, silk isn't that hard to find. Look for a FrackinUniverse planet, and basically wander around yanking up plants. You'll find some silkworms and silkspiders without much problem doing that. You might also find silk, or plastic itself, in frackin chests on frackin planets :)

    I don't hand everything out easily. Sometimes you need to work for it. That said, I was unaware that it was a problem early on. I'll look into addressing this issue in the upcoming patch this week.

    Yanking up plants... do you mean hitting them with your weapon as you would on vanilla jungle planets for plant fiber? Or do you mean digging them out by means of slow walking and matter manipulating the dirt blocks? I didn't get anything like that on the bog world I visited.

    if you are using a custom race, you wont see the quests.


    and as for "yanking up plants" i mean quite literally harvesting Wild versions of plant seeds.

    Well I recently installed the mod and foolishly forgot to back up the saves and now for whatever reason my game closes out whenever I try loading a previous save. When I remove the mod and delete the metadata file (the one that keeps track of the quests) the character save works, although with having to start the quest lines over. When I remove the mod but the "broken" metadata is loaded, the crash log states that it couldnt find berliniteore (as its part of the mod). I'm thinking that somehow my old save conflicted with the mod adding the quests to the character but removing keeps the character broken due to trying to call up a removed file. I cant fix this without just starting over (which I'm not going to do or I'm going to work around it, IE dropping all my gear off on a planet and then redoing the quests.) But is there any way in a future release to make these quests as optional items/options under the S.A.I.L? Kind of like how the "Crew mod" has it so that it may reduce conflicts?

    See, you, unlike the asshat from last week , Typhron, know how to politely report this bug. He had the exact same issue. Except he opted to swear and act like an inbred lunatic about it.

    So let's see here. It certainly seems like a save conflict issue. Not much I can really do about that, in any form.

    I have no intention of using SAIL for quests. I did initially until I learned of the numerous limitations it has. I would rather it work another way.

    The way we plan to do it is going to be item/NPC based, which should be just as non-obtrusive as using SAIL would be. Either way, it won't be brute-forced immediately onto new characters. That should resolve issues like this in the future.

    Sorry I can't give you sunnier news about it apart from "be patient !" :)








    Nope, since I will not be supporting race-based quests in an update or two anyhow. No point bothering to change it now :)
